Walked in and 3 ladies in there talking to each other, no one being served stood there and felt like several seconds waiting to get served no one spoke to me or made eye contact, in the end I spoke and asked for a coffee, cakes looked good, thought do I just walk out and go home? But sat outside have wanted to visit for a very long time only 4/5 parking spaces, there is a layby on the road/parking, sat outside and watched a canal boat come through the locks which was great to watch, it is noisy because of the road, a few more people came into sit outside foid looked good and there is seating inside. A lovely walk along the canal with Family/Friends and of course our Fur Babies šŸ•. Spoke to a gentleman/volunteer who was very helpful they help keep the lock and canal going they are trying to raise money for a New Bridge I think he said? I noticed to benches/seating along part of the canal. I did walk under the bridge/riad to the others idea of the canal have included pictures It was a lovely Sunny day next time will ho fir...

I love and have always loved going to lockside cafe in the different seasons, there is a place where people can go and sit quietly with a coffee and watch the world go by, or join in for a chat and giggle with all of the staff and owners. Over the last 7 years I have been going to the cafe and everyone is happy even on the really really busy days in the main summer season, the staff work extremely hard and put in 150%always, the banter flows too, and all of the regular visitors have great fun with the staff, including the manager and owners. It's a great little place to go and feel comfortable, the staff are what makes it with their friendly and welcoming personalitys, and the coffee n cakes are fantastic to. Love this place and could not rate it highly enough. Keep up the good work all especially...

We popped in the Sunday before last (14th July) and thought this to be a lovely little tranquil spot next to the canal locks. The menu is a little basic and the food perhaps overpriced for what it is, but the service we had from our young waitress was fantastic and the sun was out so we were more than happy. That was at least until the owner/manager walked out and started screaming at the poor waitress (who I must add was very busy and working very hard) in front of everyone for giving a customer one extra pack of butter... saying that she was costing her profit! Aside from being ridiculous, it seemed entirely unprofessional and I hope the ghastly owner reads this review because her attitude and the treatment of her staff is the reason we wouldn't want to...

First time visit to Lockside Cafe. Staff are lovely. Lovely building in a picturesque setting next to the Shropshire Union Canal and staircase locks. Our food was very tasty. Nice selection of meals/snacks available at reasonable prices. Seating outside which is ideal for watching the barges come and go. Also a garden and children’s play area at the rear. We walked along the canal path under the bridge and met a couple of interesting people magnet fishing in the canal. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful setting right next to the locks. We got lucky as the locks were busy with narrow boats going up and down. The cafe has limited car park, otherwise the lay-by on the A41 will suffice, if you find a spot. Had to settle for tea and cheese with chilli sandwich. Would have liked the tea and scones but scones wrapped in plastic and looking flattish. They have an in dog staff member who looks more like the boss and looks like a character of his own. Good selection of tempting cakes on display .
