The Lockton Tea Rooms and Gallery is an absolute gem. The owners, the location, the setting, and the food - altogether deliver a most enjoyable, friendly, community-minded, and community-spirited focal point for this remote rural village. This has all been achieved over a relatively short period of time, and against health, financial, and operational odds, delivering a new centre of community, culture, contact, and care - and which is testament to the lovely folk who run it. I am a regular visitor, and I know some of the hard work and dedication that they have put into this business, not just for themselves, but for the greater good as well. And, I have nothing but utter disdain for a recent 1* reviewer who exposes only his personal political agenda, rather than having taken the time to investigate the challenges faced by tiny rural businesses serving their community, and celebrating their little successes instead of delivering similar ill-founded and thoughtless reviews across the length and breadth of the UK. Paul Stevenson - you're no 'Local Guide' of any worth. By all means, I defend your right to have an opinion on so called 'country sports' - and for you to express that on your own social media channels - but at least you should exercise some grace and dignity to recognise the hard work and success of other decent individuals where that has...

What a fantastic place and location. Small tea room and the gallery of local artists where you can purchase quirky and unique presents / collectible pieces of Art for yourself or loved ones. It’s a small and cozy place with a log burner and delicious food. We had a lunch with toasties Ham & Gruyere and Mozzarella, Tomato & Basil, all served with homemade coleslaw salad and crisps. We completed our feast with scrumptious Blueberry Crumble and wonderful coffee. It was an amazing lunch that I will remember. The place runs by two charming gentlemen who made us feel welcome and relaxed. It has an easy parking and outdoor eating area. And the most important part it’s dog friendly. So I can’t recommend it more, if you are in the area this place not...

Just returned from the November Supper Club event at the Lockton Tea Rooms. What a fantastic meal! I had the three courses, starting with the brown butter potato cake with smoked cheese and chive. The flavour was delicate and light and the texture was like a dreamy cloud! Delicious. Followed by harissa spiced lamb tagine and couscous. Expertly balanced flavours, with the fresh lemon in the cous cous contrasting with the melt in the mouth rich lamb. Then, PUDDING! Sticky date sponge and ginger custard. I would have gone back for seconds if I could. I had two (large) glasses of shiraz and I could not have been happier. It was a lovely evening with exceptional food, great service and lovely surroundings. Thank you, I hope we...

I can't say enough good things about the Tea Room both in terms of food and staff (would have given 6 stars if it was possible) Was staying in the local area forgot part of my order and Michael came all the way up the street to find me (Above and beyond anything I'd expect) Brilliant Toasties (Tried two on my trip; Tuna,Cheddar and Jalapeño and a Beautifully fresh Chicken, Mozzarella, Pesto and Tomato) and lovely desserts to boot (Loved the Biscoff Cake and Bakewell Tart) Amazing local spot with brilliant people on the counter and in the kitchen.

A hidden Jem and proof you can put a tea room almost anywhere and if you do it right ‘they will come’ (Field of Dreams 1989). This is a super contemporary cafe that looks like it may have once been a barn but now a really smart cafe. We much enjoyed the quiche and chocolate cake, both were beautifully light and my earl grey tea was lovely. Definitely coming again with friends and recommending it to others. Just one thing, it can be busy at lunch time so bear that in mind ok 👍
