An 85 year old Grandmother was proud to take her two teenage grandchildren, who were visiting for the weekend, for Sunday lunch. Since it was a big occasion she rang up months before to book and request a table in the restaurant. On the day they arrived early and were told they had a table in the bar. Disappointed the Grandmother politely explained she had been expecting a table in the restaurant. The owner came down and according to the children was spoiling for a fight and quite aggressive in stance and tone. He said no tables were guaranteed or reservable and if she didn’t like it she could leave. Shocked the Grandmother calmly said she didn’t like the way he was speaking to her. His response was ‘leave then’. The granddaughter asked - if no tables were able to be reserved and since the restaurant was still empty - why was moving our table such an issue? At which point he went red, got flustered by her simple logic and moved them. Upset they decided to just leave. I am posting this because the Grandmother is my mother and the behaviour of this man towards an elderly person was despicable and actually quite shocking. We’ve gone to this restaurant a number of times and it’s been generally good, but we won’t go again. I think this tells me that they don’t value their customers or even basic decency. Sharing since I feel this appalling behaviour to an 85 year old lady should...

Bit of a first for me putting the wrong review for the wrong place. Lame excuse I know but Google bringing up places you look at for review as well as places you actually visit and me not concentrating! 🤔 Apologies! 🙈 (Good job it wasn't a bad one! 😂) So back to the proper review for the right location!

Mason's Arms. A postcard setting! Lovely, quaint, picturesque pub on the side of a stream in a lovely village. Dog 🐕 friendly! Gravel Car parking at the rear and a few spaces at the front on the road. Lovely friendly staff and plenty of them! Nice atmosphere inside. Plenty of tables outside. Very nice Sunday lunch. One roast beef and one lamb. Looking forward to returning in the week to try more of...

The Masons Arms has been a regular watering hole and Sunday lunch venue for years, we were delighted to hear that it has reopened up again following the covid-19 outbreak, the pub takes the safety and hygiene standards very seriously whilst maintaining a great atmosphere, the staff are just so lovely and try their absolute best to make sure everyone is catered for and looked after well, the service is great and always accompanied by a warm smile. A good selection of local and craft beers.||The food is great and reasonably priced, a good all round place to visit, plenty of outdoor seating to watch the beautiful stream running through this picturesque village. Definitely...

What a great find this was! We wanted a nice place to stay for Ripon Races . The Masons Arms far exceeded our expectations, set in a small village not far from the race course . The room was excellent and had a nice en suite with shower. Downstairs the pub was true country style and the food both good and reasonably priced . Everyone was very welcoming and happy to chat. If you want an idyllic place to stay then I have no hesitation in recommending The Masons Arms . We will be back soon 👍

Beautiful friendly Family Pub - I absolutely love it here; rooms are fantastic, clean, cosy and comfy, fitted out tastefully. •Menu and Food Quality is superb• I chose the best-ever hearty homemade beef pie with mash and vegetables which was so tasty; full of big chunks of tender beef in a richly flavoured thick gravy, the veggies were cooked perfectly al denté and bright. The team here done themselves proud. Thanks.
