An English Pub at its best! I rate very few eateries 5-stars, and this one is thoroughly deserving. Don't let the stark frontage deter you from entering this delightful village pub. Excellent ales and some unusual dishes that raise it above the norm.

First night the steak pie was great and the chips exceptional (worthy of a top restaurant these chips: top-class). For the 2nd night, my son had fish'n'chips (very good and large portion), my brother had bobotie (a style of curry from South Africa) which he thought was excellent, and I had the lamb tagine. I will be honest - I've not eaten better a better lamb tagine (Moroccan stew) anywhere. Nothing comes in pre-cooked, all food is prepared on the premises and if this pub was in my home-town of Brighton it would be packed every night. A tremendous find and the locals are very lucky to have it on...
