The food is terrible here my partner had the lasagna had one bite and found a hair in it not on it literally inside of it it was hard shrivelled overcooked or nuked in the microwave I then found a hair in my meal as well the in laws had hunters chicken again was overcooked or nuked it was hard and dry stuck to the dish food took 50 minutes to arrive after we ordered barman was rude we ordered a Coke Zero they gave us a regular so we took it back to the bar to have it changed when we told him his response was ā€œhow do you know it’s a regular cokeā€ because they taste completely different and it’s not what we ordered the food is very expensive for what all seems like microwave meals plenty of tables but turning people away if that hadn’t booked in advance because they look under staffed if you don’t want to be disappointed then I would avoid this pub even for a quick drink it’s Ā£5.10 for a single pint it’s more expensive than most events we attend as we all know these kind of events are expensive but for a pub to charge more is crazy

Honestly discussing service and food. More the service as you can understand mistakes.Ordered 3 meals 2xadults 1xkids. Kids meal missing gravy and veg not cooked. Went in to complain and ask for raw veg to be replaced and gravy sent out. Lady rude said veg was meant to be raw... I explained doesn't say veg raw on menu and yet no gravy. She then got manager who was extremely rude said veg sticks are raw I explained they might be but we didn't order veg sticks and veg not cooked and gravy missing he was really rude and patronising. side salad disgusting and older than my 3 year old won't ever be back. Absolutely disgusting

Very enjoyable food a slightly larger piece of chicken in the New York chicken would of been nice I would trade of traded bigger chicken for the greenery they added but that is personal opinion or peas I'm not one for leaf's on my food. My wife and child both enjoyed their meals and both had a roast and if you ask nicely for some of the pork crackling they might give it to you like my daughter did and great table service during the meal. It looked so good so I tucked it before eating as you can see oh and the sundae went down well too

Stopped by for lunch today (Good Friday) — we didn’t book in advance but when we called yesterday you were happy for us to walk in. When we arrived, we were horrified with the service by 1 staff member who ā€œwelcomedā€ us. Asked us if we booked, we said no, and he walked away looking for a table without saying anything to us. Then when he moved some bits off one table next to the bar, he said ā€œthis will have to doā€ under his breath but since I was watching him I realised he was talking to us from across the room, so we walked to the table. He then walked away so I asked for a high chair for my 10months old baby while he’s still earshot away which he nodded to but continued walking. He never came back to our table with menus or asking what we wanted for lunch. My husband went to order our drinks at the bar and again was faced with this man’s weird attitude to which we finished our drinks, paid, and walked out. If you don’t have space or are fully booked, just tell us- we can go to a different pub (we did anyway). Don’t seat us and then treat us as if you’re doing us a favour! Just before we left another staff member asked if I wanted a high chair for my son (we didn’t receive one earlier when I asked for one), but it was too late, we were already leaving by the time another staff noticed us. We rushed our drinks because we felt so unwelcomed and left wishing we didn’t even bother with drinks. Shame because I’m sure the food isn’t bad from other reviews on here. But the treatment we got from that 1 staff member who sadly was the only one who we interacted with (before the other waitress noticed we were struggling before we left) was so poorly, I really don’t want to spend our money there on a meal, especially since it was meant to be a belated Mother’s Day treat for me. Such a sad...

Very poor indeed. Ok so second time of going a couple of years apart with a big family group. First off access is good lots of parking and wheel chair friendly all big ticks. The atmosphere is none existing, it's neither historic or moder and is on the scale of a weatherspoons feel. It's a stop off not a destination. Beer, slightly higher than I would expect from a pub such as this, it's not London prices but not far from either. Beer is not the best kept judging by the Guinness I had which clearly was either a barrel over 7 days old or they had not cleaned the lines for some time as it was bitter in taste and not as a Guinness should be. Food food starter was mixed platter. Not sure it was a good combo the cheese and bread would have made a sufficient starter all the greasy onion rings etc would have been better left as a separate dish. So uch promise but didn't deliver. Had the Sunday roast. Good amount of meat - not the best cut in the world but was passable. Veg was pretty much non existing and the potatoes were not what I would expect for the price paid. Food was not overly hot when it came out and there was a fair bit left on a few plates from group. Staff were a bit slow to sort any issues and replace cutlery used for starters rhey only set on knife and fork at a time. Sure was not done dinning and would not be a place I would book to go back to as so many other nice local Sunday lunch pubs around. With its close proximity to bath and the surrounding countryside there are I'm sure nicer places to go. If you're passing and need to find somewhere quick then it will fuel you up. Was very busy though seems quantity over quality may be order of the day in the area. Over all opinion is low quality bit rubbish service and atmosphere was more dead than the side of...

I wanted to organise a family gathering and needed a venue that could cope with more than just a handful of guests. This place turned out to be perfect! My enquiry's, initially by phone and then more detailed through emails, were dealt with quickly and thoroughly by Helena who explained everything required. On the day, which was a Sunday, my wife and I arrived twenty minutes before our time and were greeted and shown our tables and place settings by Tina and Robyne. Everything looked perfect and we sat down to enjoy a drink, having been assured all was in good hands and nothing was too much trouble. Robyne, in particular, took care of us during our meal and both her and Tina were always on hand to make sure our day went well. Our groups age ranged from a 3 year old to an 84 year old, and consisted of 15 adults and 10 children. The food was lovely and ordered from all sorts of menus on offer that day. The service was outstanding, friendly and prompt. The garden play area was a target for the kids but unfortunately the weather was awful and could only be used closer to the end of our 4 hour stay. The day was a massive success and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone there. Generally the venue was very busy due to the fact that as well as our gathering, they were also catering for another larger party, plus all the normal couples, families and walk-ins that they get. They obviously have a very good team and coped brilliantly as we never for a minute felt rushed or left waiting. A superb venue that wholeheartedly gets my recommendation.

Many thanks to all the staff at The New Inn,...
