Well this place is aptly named as the male owner is an âodd fellowâ and has absolutely no customer service skills! Please donât take your dog in there he had a huge dislike for my two miniature dachshunds simply breathing was a problem for him. Youâd think they were huge labradors who had been running in a muddy field. From the minute he saw them he had it in for me, throwing dirty looks. Perhaps it was because I wasnât local? but after ordering coffee and food with his lovely and very pleasant partner he proceeded to stare and berate me for picking up one of my dogs (I thought she had hurt herself) for having her near the table! He said we have rules to follow and the tables need to be clean. Now Iâm a person who likes to comply with rules I take my dogs to many cafes and he could have spoken to me in a softer, professional, discreet and polite manner, however he yelled at me from behind the counter so everyone in the cafe was aware (trying to be the big man) I told him I would like my money back and I would leave, he said YES you can. I told him I had never been treated so badly l in a cafe, in fact humiliated , and he said I donât need people like you and Iâm not apologising to you, he was so rude and arrogant, even his partner was telling him to be quiet everyone was embarrassed, and he should have been. He had his baby boy behind the counter with hot steam off coffee maker close by, I would say that was more of a health, hygiene and safety issue than two little dogs on the floor. I hope he is never in the situation where he needs business but if he carries on like that he wonât have one itâs only a tiny cafe in Haydon Bridge such a shame he doesnât think of his reputation and he could deal with people in a more courteous manner. Running a cafe is hard but without customer service skills he wonât have one, poor man. I will avoid that place like the plague - simply a ...

The building itself is very striking and the ground floor is this beautiful coffee shop with its modern, stylish interior of painted wood panelling and calming minimalist decor.
The lady serving, who I learned was Rosie, was lovely, very polite and as helpful as could be!
Hubby asked for a large coffee but there was only one size cup but she gave him plenty of milk as heâd asked.
We both ordered avocado on sourdough toast which came with two slices of beautiful smoked salmon. The whole plateful was delicious!
As we were eating Rosie came over with another cup of coffee, she was concerned that the cup had not been as large as she felt we expected and so brought John another coffee. We tried to pay for this before we left but were politely assured that payment for the extra coffee was not required so we left a good tip instead.
There are some beautiful little pencil sketches on the walls, obviously of the local area, and everything in here has been very carefully thought about and chosen with care.
There is even a dogs bowl with filtered water for their four legged visitors.
The loo is huge, very modern and exceptionally clean with baby change facilities too.
The bill was ÂŁ15.50 (without the extra coffee) which we both felt was excellent value!
I have saved this coffee shop to my Google Favourites and we will be very happy to call here again next time weâre...
Read moreI absolutely love Oddfellows Coffee, it has become like my second home and you'll find me in there a lot! Everything about it is amazing, the service is fantastic... the owners are kind, friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious, I love Rosie's special Chinese dishes on a Wednesday and my usual go to for lunch on other days is the spicy pickled mustard green and tomato melt, a lovely fusion! There is a huge selection of drinks, the coffee is lush and there are so many loose leaf teas to try out too. Oh not to forget the amazing homemade sweet treats too. There is something for everyone. My favourite place to sit is the private nook at the back of the coffee shop. It is so cozy and relaxing, and such a private spot to chat with a friend, do some computer work, or chill out on your own. The artwork around the shop is fabulous and you can even buy some of it, as well as little souvenirs they have made too. I personally love the vibe of the place, it's relaxed and friendly but also has a nice quirkiness to it too....
