UPDATE: 04.09.24:

Visited again with my mother whilst heading south. Simon was very friendly and attentive. As always the food and service were both great. Really enjoyed the fish and chips.

UPDATE: 09.04.24:

Great food and great service as always. The Big Porker hotdog with BBQ pulled pork is unreal.

UPDATE: 09.06.23:

My mother and I popped in for some lunch after a long trip. The service was excellent - thanks Nichola - and the food was the best yet. Absolutely loved the BBQ hot dog. My mum doesn't usually eat burgers but really enjoyed it!

UPDATE: 05.04.23:

Visited with my parents and my nephew. The food was lovely and the service was great as always. I really like this place!

UPDATE: 13.07.22:

Visited with my sister and nephew again. Service and food both still excellent.

UPDATE: 13.06.22:

Visited with my sister and nephew. It was quiet, so it was nice to have a good natter. It was still very clean and comfortable.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

The service was fantastic, the diner was spotless and clean with plenty of parking out front. The food was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the burgers, hotdogs, smores sandwiches and milkshakes.

The ladies were very professional and helpful.

The food was fairly priced and good quality. I had the chargrilled chicken butterfly breast burger, with bacon, chips and a bubblegum milkshake. My sister had a beefburger with chips and a black forest milkshake. We had some onion rings each. My nephew had spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread, a Capri Sun and a chocolate ice-cream cone. The food and service were fantastic. We really enjoyed it all. My nephew especially was crazy for the spag bol as he kept telling everyone.

The 15% off loyalty card gave a nice saving. Will...

What a surprise! Do you know when you’ve got an hour to kill and you pull off on the services expecting some ā€˜little chef’ type restaurant, that you pay through the nose for cold food and horrendous service…

Imagine ā€˜expecting that’ and receiving the POLAR OPPOSITE, I saw a sign for the OK Diner, ā€œhmm this place looks goodā€¦ā€ I pulled in. The actual building looks FAB. You can see they’ve really put some real work into it. Parking was easily available… I parked right outside.

Walking in I was greeted by a such a happy young lady. Very friendly and she showed me to my table. The appearance of the place is IMMACULATE, Every other wall is a mirror! Not a smudge in sight,

I’m not the type of guy to read the menu I’m usually the type that would just say, ā€œWhat’s good!?ā€ The lady knew the menu backwards, she offered me an awesome double cheese burger meal. I think it was called the ultra burger or something along them lines… I later found out that it was only her second day! So the training must be pronominal! She knew the menu backwards!

Food was quick to arrive and WOW. Talk about value for money, it was absolutely gorgeous. Huge portions, and I’m a big guy. Good quality meat, even the chips were just perfect. I’ve walked out feeling so well treat that I’ve spent the last 10 minutes trying to remember my password just to leave this review! The place deserves raves for the quality.

I’m going to bring my girlfriend to this place it was so good. It was a real treat. Thoroughly enjoyed and hugely appreciated!

Thanks...

What a shame, i start with the fact I've wanted to visit here for so long and today I finally got the chance, we walked in and all the staff were really smiling and giving a warm welcome which was fantastic to see, a whiff of garlic bread filled the air and my hopes were through the roof, then we sat down and it quickly went down hill. The Mrs grabbed an highchair and what can only be described as stale vomit looking water fell all over her from it. We pointed this out to a female staff member who didn't even react. Then on grabbing the cutlery it was still dirty, the floor wasn't too far behind the grim discovery on the highchair. Unfortunately at this point the Mrs was done and we swiftly left without getting the chance to tatse the lovely smelling food. What a shame, I'm really disappointed as the menu looks absolutely fantastic too.

Finally persuaded the Mrs to give this another try, this time the restaurant was clean enough for us to stay, service was prompt and freindly enough, the food however was average and not quite worth the price. Atmosphere was non existent really other that the freindly waitress trying her best to create one. Won't be going again personally but if ya driving past and don't mind paying slightly over the odds you'll find something for you in...

OK diner. More thank ok! Thought we’d give the OK Diner near Hartlepool a go after our holiday. Wednesday is any burger for Ā£7.95 when purchasing a drink, which we thought was a bargain considering most of the burgers are around Ā£15 Upon arriving we were greeted by friendly waiting staff who took us to our table. The layout and authenticity of the diner is excellent, going for that American diner chic! Good selection of American style food. We both settled for burgers. Mine was BBQ and partners was cheeseburger. Both came well presented with plenty of skin on fries. Burgers stayed together well in the buns. Taste of burgers very good although texture wise I would have preferred slightly thinner (although that is my own preference). Staff were very friendly throughout. Two drinks and two burger meals came Ā£24. Can’t complain at that šŸ‘Œ Will be coming back to try the range of desserts and pancakes as they sound amazing !

ā€˜OK’ diner is ironically the best way to describe it. It looks great with the themed style, the service wasn’t bad, but when it comes to value for money…that’s a whole other story. We called in for breakfast, ordered the short stack pancakes each and I added streaky bacon to mine as I had always been curious to try the combination of syrup and bacon. Unfortunately the small single slice of streaky bacon I got for the extra Ā£1.65 to go between 4 pancakes sadly left me not really experiencing the syrup/bacon combo. The American themed diner sadly seems to stop at decor and background music, the renowned large American portions definitely needs a lot of work to match up. And to top off the disappointing experience, we noticed on the way out we could have gotten 15% discount if in the ok diner club, we are in the club but didn’t realise the discount and it wasn’t mentioned at point of payment.

Wanted to try this place for a while but was disappointed when we tried it. The food was average at best, we had a burger and a philly sandwich as well as a kids chicken and chips. Although it was average it was expensive, five guys would have been nicer and cheaper (which isn't said much!). We had some milkshakes to finish and they were again average. Service wasn't amazing, drinks came warm and had to ask for ice. Also took a while for waitress to notice we'd finished so we could order desserts and in the end got up to pay as waitresses didn't seem to want acknowledge we were there.
