Good Lord this place is wonderful. I think I just had the best, most buttery and lightly crumbly scone of my life. The iced coffee was also heavenly - made with full fat (local) milk. I have previously eaten a full English breakfast, poached eggs avocado and halloumi, an outstanding Ploughman’s lunch over the Jubilee weekend with local cider, doorstop sized wedges of Victoria sponge and coffee cake AND just to keep the balance right purchased locally grown fruit and vegetables too. I can’t wait to go again soon. I have just seen an Instagram post about a street food evening in august… very lucky to have places like this nearby.

Great food, and in retrospect, review upgraded to 4* as the venue was very accommodating when we turned up with no booking. However, my advice remains: make a booking if possible. We were travelling down the A303 and this looked like a great place to stop off for lunch on our way. If you have got the time and this is a destination, then make the effort and enjoy an afternoon with lovely food and service. Food is cooked immediately as ordered, so when busy the staff will find a seat, but not take any orders until the kitchen has capacity. The food is really tasty - when it comes!

Been to the Cafe a few times and had a great time at their Asian food evening. Lovely set menu with a good mix of meat and vege options. Ordered a selection of dishes, and they all tasted unique and fresh, with good quality ingredients. Great and attentive service. Couldn't ask for more. Only slight downside was a personal preference thing, dogs are allowed in the Cafe and there was one that was fairly loud at points during my visit. Never been let down by the dairy Cafe and always a nice surprise with the selection of food and unique tastes they offer.

After visiting in the past and having a lovely and enjoyable experiences here, I had reserved a table for a family members birthday (for seven people.) and I have left feeling very disappointed and unsatisfied with my experience this time.

Understanding that they have new members of staff and they are still under going training, a few hiccups can be excused.

Also due to arriving only seeing two other couples at the table at 11am. Then a further table of four and a couple within our hour of being there.

After placing an order in for food at 11:34, we sat waiting for over 40 minutes and a walk in table having a ticket fast track. We then spoke to a member of staff, asking why we still waiting for our food and they had received there's first we had the reply of ‘beacause they were in a rush’. I work in hospitality myself and found this to be bad practice and not acceptable!

There had been no communication from the staff to our table of any delays and we're only told the delays, when confronting the staff about this we were told it was due to the small alteration of no beans on a breakfast, avocado to be removed from a meal and additional beans on the side of a bacon sandwich.

Then when receiving the food all was cold and the small alterations were completely wrong. After asking for no avocado on one of the meals, when it was delivered with avocado on, it was then taken it back to the kitchen and scrapped off the toast and then brought the plate back out. Personally I do not find this acceptable, no allergies were asked about the avocado until brought back and told “we’ve just taken it off your toast.” if it had been an allergy not a preference it could have ended badly.

The rest of the food served was cold. No one wants to eat a cold breakfast, we also had one small breakfast missing although the other 4 were present and cold.

Personally I think a bit more supervision on staff training and better communication with customers could and may have stopped this issue.

Staff members were unsure how to respond to the situation and only offered the option to re-cook the whole meal when we had told them that we would be leaving and not paying for the meal that had been served.

We did not feel like waiting any longer as they were now serving lunch. Also spending money on the risk of the meal being as poor as...

It’s very tempting not to review The Old Dairy Cafe, as it would be great to keep it a bit of a secret, but that would be unfair to a really great place. We’ve been regulars since it opened, and it’s a firm favourite and usually our first choice for elevenses, brunch or lunch - and that’s despite having a lot of really good places to go in the near vicinity. Emily runs a tight ship, so we feel really safe eating either indoors or out under the Covid-19 regulations. There’s always a warm welcome and great service, including during lockdown when the team went above and beyond to keep great takeaways and first class local produce available to make life a little brighter. Oh, and did I mention the food? It’s consistently fantastic. Clean plates all round, despite large portions. The menu changes seasonally and the cakes & bakes are yummy. In my husband’s opinion, the cheese scones are superb (and he’s a cheese scone connoisseur 😄). All in all, a great place **...

-If you get that defensive about a rating to the point of trying to insult the customer & and fabricate dramatic insults for their experience it pretty much shows the ratings entirely valid.

Came here with my family who have visited several times. However our experience was extremely negative due to our order being completely forgotten for over half an hour, (we kindly asked after 15 minutes and got told it's coming soon) given the overpriced nature of the items we asked for a refund once they eventually arrived after taking one look at pitiful amount of food. A great shame as the location was great and the younger workers were friendly and kind.

-Shame about the narcissistic owner who tries to deflect negative experiences by spreading misinformation and classism whilst throwing around ignorant buzzwords such as "trolls" Sincerely, a former special eatery owner for...
