My wife and i "discovered" this lovely pub after visiting Tyne Valley Motorhomes which is just over the road from them . The staff are fantastic and really friendly, and because it is dog friendly as well, its a winner from us. Also the staff have a genuine love for dogs (even our yappy Shih-poo ) which is amazing. The food is fantastic value and beer price's are very good.It has a welcoming relaxed atmosphere which i really can't fault. The only downside is that we live in Stockton, about 35 miles away so it can't be our local ! But we did buy a campervan from Tyne Valley Motorhomes so will be back at every opportunity. Well done to everyone in the running of this awesome pub.

Food was absolutely disgusting. We bought a Sunday roast with the slow cooked rib - came out looking like someone had stuck a bone in a tin of pedigree chum - and in honesty that’s doing dog food a disservice. Chicken tasted funky too. When asked for the peas to not come with a meal we were told that wasn’t possible as the food was pre-made. I hadn’t expected much from a pub-chain but this was really rock-bottom. Fortunately the manager was gracious enough to remove the poor quality food from the bill. I won’t be coming back here or recommending it to anyone in the future. Take my advice, go elsewhere, you’ll pay the same for far higher quality.

Lovely service once again last week. Coping well with the social distancing and good measures in place. This was our first pub meal since before lockdown and we felt particularly confident in keeping safe here. ☺ Great welcome. I wish I'd caught the name of the pleasant young man who served us. Thank you. Also, thank you to the lovely guy who greeted us and showed us a table on our arrival. Lovely steaks and sizzling hotplates, nicely garnished and a pleasant dressing on salad. Thank you. Will be back again soon. ‼️ Xxx

We decided to go out for food to celebrate some good news at work, as a local and family favourite we chose The Pack Horse - it had been a few years since our last visit so weren't sure what to expect but had good memories from before. From the moment we walked through the door the team couldn't have done more for us to welcome us and make our night special. They were clearly busy but this was explained to us, the wait time for food was clearly explained too and we were supported in finding a seat before a staff member came and took our drinks order. We interacted with about 5 staff members during our visit, each was smiling and helpful. My partner and I both have hospitality backgrounds and understand that busy shifts can be exhausting - it was so nice and refreshing to see that the staff all remained positive and with great service despite it being so busy. Service aside, the food was incredible too. The quality of the food and presentation was unbelievable. Even my latte was one of the nicest I've had in a while (better than recent trips to well known coffee brands!). Overall we had such a positive experience and I feel that the team need to be recognised for this. We are already planning our return. Thank you all for making our night...

We come here quite often and always stick to more or less the same meals. It is very rare we have a bad meal and if there is an issue the staff are always helpful and resolve the issue.

However, our last 2 visits, staff seemed to very thin on the ground. We waited a long time to place our order, people that came in after us seemed to be getting their meals and we had not even ordered yet.

Whilst waiting it did give me a chance to people watch and I did notice one young girl constantly on the go. She was taking orders, serving drinks, serving food, clearing tables; she never stopped other than her and a young lad serving drinks i never noticed anyone else working the full restaurant. I later found out that this young girl was called Grace.

Grace you are worth your weight in gold. It wasn't just today I noticed how hard you work, I also noticed on our last visit too. You were so busy yet you still had a smile on your face and provided 100% customer service.

I dont normally leave reviews but I feel Grace deserves recognition for a...

Went to this venue and it was also on quiz night without realising.

Was placed in the middle of the quiz tables which wasn't great as it felt awkward wanting to talk but recognising those around wanted it quiet to do the quiz.

The service was super slow, sure the staff were friendly but just slow, which is weird given so many tables were just doing the quiz so it wasn't like they were ordering food or drinks on the regular.

The food was okay, i elected for the mixed grill, the gammon was okay, the steak was good, the sausage was a bit under cooked (looked like it had been boiled) and was low quality, the chicken was quite slimet.

After eating we eventually had the staff come up to clear the table and ask about deserts, we just asked for the bill. Fifteen minutes later there was still no bill, and the staff member was walking about, so I think they forgot. Eventually I called it quits and went to the bar and asked if I could pay there and they...
