To start with I'm going to be totally honest, we had a table for 20.00 and there at 1945 and ordered food after being told to order quickly as they had a table of 12 and another table of more which is fine but we waited for nearly 50 mins for my wife's 60th birthday dinner which even on a normal day is a long time to wait. I know that I think I counted only a 2 or 3 on the floor of staff when we were in there, they were far far to busy serving the other 45 people or so to be attentive to us which is a massive shame because the sentence we got out of them the really nice but you could tell far far to busy to pay any attention to my wife on her birthday, I'm not happy at that!! FOOD... it's not the cheapest place to eat... BUT BUT the food was superb very tasty, I had steak wife had taurine could not say bad word about it and that was brilliant. PUB We went back in pub and had a drink and it's really nice atmosphere, really lovely bar lady (I'm so sorry didn't get her name) has time to have a chat with us and other people in pub and really made it a lovely end to the night. Then as I up to get last drink for the night, the poor kid that was taking food to the other 2 party, taking our food order, cleared our table and served us our last drink and then have to leave us to clear tables. LEGEND!!! I hope management think he is as great as my wife...
Read moreStaff and service was good. The location is a little tucked away but there is a cosy bar area and plenty of good outside seating and a reasonable beer and ale selection. However without doubt the worst food we have probably had in years. Fish pie appeared to be a microwaved disaster with rubber prawns tasteless fish and no sign of the salmon. The chicken and chorizo was an over cooked flattened dry piece of chicken with pizza pepperoni slices covered in cheese. Supported by soggy reheated chips and presentation to match. Being a hotel you expect to pay more in the restaurant, which you do, but the food was appauling and promptly returned. Such a shame this nice venue is let down by the food and a dull menu. The local chain pub we walked too but the Ramblewood food to shame. So given some of the excellent local restaurants the ramblewood really needs to get a grip of its kitchen. Would give Zero stars if I could. Reported the issue to the manager and...
Read moreCame here with party of 18 family members for easter Sunday lunch.... most of us had the carvery which was very good quality. There was a great variety of vegetables to also choose from and of good quality but what was very good was the quality of the meat selections but also the cuts were lovely and generous. There were also 4 vegetarians meals 1 pub classic and 2 kids meals all brought out in good time so that were were eating together. Drinks were also brought in a very efficient manner. The staff managed to look after all of the party very well and we're always checking if we were ok and if we needed anything else..... We all had a great time and a lovely easter and would thoroughly recommend the ramblewood inn anytime whether for a meal or drink. Very cosy setting and friendly staff. Keep up the good work guys and thank you all for a good day. 5 stars from me well deserved and will be coming back...
