What a gem, from the moment you enter this beautiful cosy pub you are welcomed by Wendy, with a lovely smile and cheerful Aussie accent. The interior is cosy and comfortable, with plenty of seating for large or intimate gatherings. The menu is a delight with traditional pub classics along side food from the grill. Yep Steve the Australian chef is a whiz on the BBQ and there is nothing like a good steak or fish cooked on a BBQ, we had the sea bass with prawns and chorizo, which was delicious. Always save room for dessert though as the home cooked desserts are consistently yummy 😊... All this talk about food, but after all you are in a pub, what does the bar have to offer?.... Again Wendy has an amazing knowledge of wine, she sources beautiful varieties from around the globe and of course there are some lovely Australian Shiraz's and Chardonnays. The draft beer is also extensive and a highlight. So on top of all this is there more? Yes, they also have a what's on guide... 2 December ''turning on the Christmas lights' event, pub quiz's, BBQ tutorials in the summer and of course Australia Day just to mention a few. This place truly is a gem. It is so lovely to see a family run pub, with such passion and commitment to excellence. Good on...
Read moreWe visited as a family of 9 (plus 2 dogs) whilst camping nearby, and we were very impressed! Firstly the decor is lovely, everything seems very new and looks beautiful! We each had mains and dessert, as well as several drinks each during our visit. As a large group you expect to wait a little longer, however everything arrived quickly and was clearly freshly prepared. There is a great choice of options on the menu, and almost all of us ordered something different with lots of other options available. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the only reason food was left on any plates was to save room for pudding! The portion sizes were generous whilst being very fairly priced. The dessert options were very classic options (brownie, sticky toffee pudding, sundaes etc), which means there really is something for everyone. Finally, all of the staff that we met during our meal were lovely! Very friendly and chatty with us, and giving treats to the dogs which is a bonus. I hope one day to return to Cornwall because I would...
Read moreI'm not one to usually write a review, however this place really deserves a 5 star review. We are staying locally at the cornish safari, we arrived later on Friday night and decided to get a takeaway from this pub, it was really lovely and exactly what we needed!!
We them decided to go out somewhere for tea Saturday night, we visited a different pub, but that was too much a drinkers pub and we didn't like the atmosphere when we wanted a nice family meal.. so we headed back to here. We sat in, the staff and owner was so lovely and accommodating. My 5 yr old son had a childs chicken burger although not advertised on the kids menu, they accommodated us from the main menu for him. His words.. banging! I had the chicken skewers which again, faultless. My husband has the bbq steak which was incredible!! Desert also lovely. All round very very happy customers , highly reccomend and will defiantly look to return!
