I did not have high expectations for this Asian urban club lounge style restaurant completely out of context in a basement in the Yorkshire countryside... But... It blew me away. Dining in London you have your pick of upscale Asian cuisine so I was jaded for sure... But let me tell you, it was well worth the visit. Arriving at Grantley Hall it's an impressive and beautiful place and the modern new building where 88 sits is sexy and inviting. The cocktails are interesting and some delicious. The service good. The food however, is a labour of love in its own right. We had the tasting menu...opting for the standard and one vegan for variety and shared almost everything. To the chef I say bravo, your dishes were inspired and original. The chicken broth wow, the Korean fried cauliflower wow, the clay pot tofu (cannot believe I'm saying this... Wow), the celeriac in masterstock ...wow. the rhubarb sorbet wow. Both menus were equal and I have never said that about vegan food so last night was an education in vegan for me in the art of the possible. Mind blown and will not be forgotten...

Our visit to Restaurant Eighty-Eight at the five-star GrantleyHall was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first moment, we were captivated not only by the atmosphere but by the incredible hospitality. Sienna, Sam, Isaac, and Camile delivered service on a level that can only be described as flawless — warm, professional, and genuinely passionate.

The food was simply fantastic: every dish a masterpiece, perfectly paired with wine that elevated the entire experience. What truly set the evening apart was the way the team told the stories behind the dishes and the wine. Their words transported us through time, making the meal feel like a journey, not just dinner.

This was more than just dining — it was an unforgettable experience of flavors, stories, and impeccable service. Restaurant Eighty-Eight is the definition of fine dining, and we cannot...

The food, ambience and service is excellent here. We arrived for dinner and each had different dietary restrictions but they cheerfully accommodated us all.

We sat in a booth which was lovely, as it enabled us to speak without being hindered by the music.

The food and mocktails were delicious (I had the lychee one) and the restaurant itself is beautiful.

We decided against the tasting menu as we had already gone down that path at Shaun Rankin and chose our dishes with much anticipation.

We were not disappointed. We order several starters to share and our main courses.

The flavours tantalised our taste buds. I am in love with the chilli and garlic noodles and the potatoes were perfection!

I had the fish dish which was lovely and then dessert was scrumptious too (we shared it as we were so full!)

It was a very enjoyable evening in a...
