This morning, my companions and I had the pleasure of visiting Rider's Rest Cafe and Trattoria for the first time, completely unaware of its existence until we stumbled upon it after watching a TV program. Nestled in a picturesque old village near Bath, the cafe exudes traditional charm and is a perfect retreat for cyclists, joggers, families on a leisurely drive, or those simply exploring the quaint village landscape on foot.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a small yet cozy coffee shop with ample seating for guests. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere was palpable, thanks to the passionate owners who clearly take pride in their establishment. It felt like stepping into a community hub where everyone was engaged in lively conversations, instantly making us feel like old friends or cherished members of the community.
The food surpassed our expectations, with each dish being incredibly delicious and thoughtfully prepared. And as a coffee enthusiast, I was delighted to find that their coffee was among the best I've had recently, adding to the overall delightful experience.
Without a doubt, Rider's Rest Cafe and Trattoria has left a lasting impression on us, and we are eager to return. It's a place that truly stands out in every aspect, from its charming location to its warm and inviting ambiance, making it a special destination worth revisiting...
Read moreWe have been regular customers for about a year and a half and this is our favourite cafe. Michelle and Mimmo have created the most wonderful homely place, when we visit with our baby daughter, they always make us feel so welcome. What they offer in terms of food and drink is truly very special. The porchetta panini are utterly delicious, we love them with fresh tomato, mustard and mayonnaise. We’ve also tried other things they have had on as specials from time to time, like their homemade Calabrian sausage. You can really appreciate the love, care and effort that goes into their food. Michelle makes a really delicious latte and the cakes are always such a treat too, both the more English ones and Italian specialities. An absolute gem of a place with the...

Came here the morning after my cousin's wedding with a family of 10 + our pug. We had actually meant to go to another cafe, but I'm glad we made the mistake as we ended up having a generous English breakfast and a great time with Michelle who runs front of house. The cafe is situated in a livery, and the riders there are so friendly, even letting us feed and play with the horses! (I'd suggest not touching them without permission of course). You can also watch them trot around in the...
