Second outing to this pub, very friendly and dogs also very welcome. Good range of beer unusually only had two but very good and we weren’t expecting to eat but had a very good pie and the steak was exceptional can’t fault the guys and gals who run this pub and it’s just a nice boozer👌 Love it thank you,! Re visited tonight with some really good friends, they absolutely loved all the food and had a fantastic night, thank you so much, this is one of the best food pubs and the prices are a good £5 less than any.of the pubs around. £103 4 people, mains and deserts with multiple drinks absolute bargain!

This country pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff. The flavorful food was served promptly, providing a welcome respite after a lengthy journey from Newcastle. Furthermore, the team provided valuable local insights regarding parking and nearby attractions prior to our departure 😀. We highly recommend this establishment for its culinary offerings, attentive service, and traditional ambiance.

What a find! Very impressed . I went on a Tuesday when they have Thai food served (thai cook as well), my pork curry was superb and only £7. The beer was good and the fire was roaring. One of the best pub experiences in a while. I have heard the Sunday roasts are very good also but I suspect you have to reserve ages ago. Very good free house pub and run by the same team for 12 years. Definitely go there, open from 1800 weekdays.

I'm shocked that I've not reviewed the ring of bells.

After moving fairly locally, we were recommended to try their food. From the first visit we were made to feel like family, and have been regulars ever since.

The food is outstanding: a surprising mix of traditional British and Asian. The menu regularly is changing and never short of something interesting and delicious.

We have two young kids who are usually relatively well behaved when eating out, but definitely have their moments. The team always make us feel welcome and know how to engage little ones.

We love finishing a satisfying meal with a couple of games of skittles.

I don't think there are many places. I'd rather be on a chilly winter's night than near the blazing fire at the ring of bells. Or a summer's afternoon outside with a cold drink watching...

Honestly… come here, you won’t be disappointed.

We stayed nearby for a friends wedding and popped in to the Ring O’ Bells for dinner. I can honestly say this is the best meal we’ve had in a long time. The food is freshly prepared and of a very very high standard. We had 4 starters between the 3 of us and mains. We thought we were full after this and declined desserts, 10 minutes later we suffered major fomo (fear of missing out) and ordered dessert. We weren’t disappointed.

I’d planned to take pictures of the courses but when the food is as good as it was here these things slip the mind.

The place is very cosy with an open fire, there were two good guest ales available, a large gin/shorts selection and there’s a...

Sunday roast or something hot on a cold day - hard to beat. Looking for vegetarian or summer food - go somewhere else. Veggie roast lunch is just a plate of potatoes and veg (same price as the meat one but with no meat alternative), and there's only one other veggie option on the menu (curry). No salad in sight. And avoid the ice cream (lumps of solid ice). Very embarrassing taking in laws there recently as a (supposedly) birthday treat, we won't do that again. But we love the pub in the winter: it's friendly and cosy, the hot meals are delicious and the staff are cheerful. Just need more...
