We booked four weeks in advance for the mother’s day set menu and were not disappointed. The seven hour slow cooked rib of beef was the best we have ever tasted. It was exquisite. There are no words to describe just how succulent it was, as were the perfectly roasted potatoes, other vegetables, and delicious Yorkshire pudding. The starters of calamari and Korean BBQ chicken were also excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the Bakewell tart with custard while the rest of my family tucked into the Panna cotta and chocolate torte. Even the cappuccinos were good! Service was excellent, and our only complaint were noisy guests at a table nearby, but you can hardly blame the restaurant for that. Definitely will be going back again soon.

It's a great setting to grab a quick drink and relax, but since the new management took over it's been a slippery slope. We popped in to grab a table and it was less than half full and were told they were serving "100's of people" in the garden.... I get it that staffing may be an issue, but instead of offering additional options at the bar, snacks / drinks etc.. we were told they are at capacity sorry. Again, it happens, but to simply say they have 100's of people in the garden in a misguided attempt to deflect from staffing issues to deter customers is just poor customer service.

Set in a a converted 19th century Court, the ambiance is great with querky antique fixtures. Our waiter Tom, explained all the social distance rules in place to protect our safety very clearly and made us feel very welcome. The whole place was spottlesly clean with clear signs on the tablets, indicating they had been sanitized. We ordered 2 starters, 2 mains to eat in, accompanied with a bottle of wine and a pudding to take away all for under £50. All of which where delicious. In short a quaint lovely place with welcoming and friendly staff to make you feel comfortable and safe.

The seafood grill was dreadful. The prawns weren't advertised as coming with the shells on, and the fish was dry and chewy. All three fillets of fish tasted like they'd been under a hotplate for hours, and the veg that was cooked with 'pesto' clearly wasn't. Oven chips were a real disappointment too, i was gutted. £15.50 for a main should get something better than the attached. The hollandaise sauce was weak, buttery and awful. I really regret getting the seafood grill, but my friends enjoyed other dishes. MASSIVE let down.
