I never rate 5* because there's always room for improvement. (But that's just me). They serve the smallest..keep reading.. tastiest..keep reading..most filling steak and kidney pie I've ever had..it was gorgeous. Served with a potato mash not quite like anything I've had before..I'm guessing a cheesy herby kind of mash..mash doesn't suit it as a word..and they haven't paid me for this review..the peas were dried up and overcooked, the gravy was A2, (I don't give A1's either). Service.. friendly, helpful but not trying to get you in and out as a number, I truly felt valued as a customer. Value for money.. when I looked at my small pie, with the obviously overcooked peas, a small pile of mash, and a small pot of gravy, I thought..£9-95 for this? I also bought sausage mash and gravy for my two girls, who normally finish anything put on the plate..they didn't, but it wasn't because they didn't like it. (full up). They shared the sausages and I had a bite of both the Lincolnshire and Cumberland..both A2 (remember I don't give A1's) Summary So, for £30 ish, we had three meals, drinks not included but are very reasonably priced, brilliant service without being in your face, in a very comfortable, clean pub..oh and certainly the mens toilet is clean, my girls said the womens were clean too. The only fault I can think of are the peas.. sadly.. everything else 5..no..4😁 Well done...

The Rose and Crown is under new management, and is firing on all cylinders. The inside of the pub is pristine, and the general aesthetic strikes the perfect balance of traditional and modern, which isn't an easy thing to get right, but they've managed it! The bar is usually featuring guest ales and all the standard lager, cider, wine and spirits you could possibly need, and it features a plethora of classic weekend pub entertainment - which I'm proud to say that I'm a part of, as one of their music acts. The pub also apparently backs on to a sizeable camp site - always handy if you're packing tents. Other reviewers have raved about the food, so that's certainly something for us to experience at a later date. The photos certainly look wonderfulđŸ‘ŒđŸŒ Ridgemont, get behind your local pub. I'll most likely be...

What an amazing venue to have our daughter’s christening. Everything was perfect! Tom made organising the day very easy. Communication was excellent and there were great food choices. We went for the premium buffet and we couldn’t have been happier. The food was amazing and there was loads of it. If anything ran low they would top it up. It came with unlimited tea and coffee. Very accommodating for the children. There were chicken nuggets, chips and unlimited squash, which was regularly topped up. The room was spotlessly clean, the bar lady was really efficient and friendly. The room was decorated beautifully. I couldn’t praise this venue enough. There a small team of staff and did an amazing job. I can’t wait to book this...

I took Mumsy to the Rose & Crown for Sunday lunch, following the recommendation of local friends, Mr & Mrs Downie. The hosts were very accommodating allowing Mumsy to have a smaller portion of only one sausage with mash potatoes and peas. I had traditional roast beef. We spotted a family of three with large portions of dark chocolate sponge and sauce when we first arrived, and having been told by them it was absolutely delicious, we simply had to try it. We shared one portion of this dessert. This pub has a good selection of real ales too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I certainly recommend the Rose & Crown in Ridgemont for lunch and a good drink.

I was looking for a spot to stop for the night in my motorhome, at very short notice, and The Rose and Crown came up. I gave them a call, spoke to Rachel, who was very polite and had some spare spots for me, priced at £25/night with hook up. On arrival, not only was she very helpful, most of the regulars there made me feel very welcome too 😂 unfortunately, I arrived after 4pm on the sunday, so I missed food. I was offered a spot on hook up, right in front of the showers. Speaking of which, the showers could do with a little modernisation, but they were functional and the water very hot. I will stop here again in the future, as I'd like to try the food 😋
