I'm exempt from wearing a face covering due to disability and mental health. I am exempt but was refused entry because I didn't have a lanyard. The lanyards are brought from a private company and ARE NOT a legal requirement. I was challenged and told by a member of staff that she is disabled and is wearing one so why can't I. I felt humiliated. I have never been challenged like this once I explain I am exempt. I have proof of disability which they didn't want to see. They only wanted to see a lanyard which as I've said, isn't even a legal requirement to have as they are sold by a private company not given to those who are exempt by gov. This is the guidance from Gov about this.
"Those who have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering should not be routinely asked to give any written evidence of this, this includes exemption cards. No person needs to seek advice or request a letter from a medical professional about their reason for not wearing a face covering.
Some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering. This could be in the form of an exemption card, badge or even a home-made sign.
This is a personal choice and is not necessary in law."
Really upset and feel absolutely humiliated. Would not recommend this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Rutherfords, race bike sport themed cafe and I was extremely impressed. From the moment I walked in, the customer service was top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed throughout my visit.
The food portions were generous and delicious. I had the pleasure of trying their breakfast. The prices were also very reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food and service.
The cafe is located in a business park, making it easy to find and with parking close by. The atmosphere was cozy and the decor was impressive, with many race bike sport theme. I especially liked the wall and ceilling with the different memorabilia and trophies of racers.
I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a good breakfast and great dining experience with friendly service, delicious food, and good prices. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place is cheap and cheerful but that wouldn't be a problem if at least the lady which takes the order will smile for once in her life time and actually listen to what the customer is ordering, she got my orders wrong on several occasions, to me it looks like she doesn't want or like to be there... from the body language to the way she speaks to you, just not nice or welcoming at all ! Food pretty average, what we get usually which is the English breakfast like majority of the customers here ... lets start with the eggs which are overdone all the time, very dry mushrooms as well, potatoes overcooked I have been here on numerous occasions and if you ask for crispy bacon, it will come back dry just like a piece of carboard... the portions are generous but can't justify the price for the overcooked food you get ! All in all it is an...
