Best Sunday dinner!!! Wow!!! What a fabulous little gem of a place - if you’re considering going, don’t think a moment longer, just go!!! The owner of this place really knows what he’s doing - cracking village pub that is delivering an exceptional standard of food at a very reasonable price. This was place DESERVES the recognition and the custom. We were so pleasantly surprised how brilliant this place was, of course you do have to make a little tiny bit of allowance for the fact that they’ve only just started serving food, their staff are still training and you maybe need to be a bit patient and understanding but if you have ever worked in hospitality then you understand. Please go and support, they really deserve it and know their stuff - you won’t be disappointed! Absolutely fabulous restaurant to visit in the area. Food, staff & atmosphere top shelf. Sunday roast a classic. Our only massive problem was sitting next to a table with 2 dogs that arrived after settling in & our orders taken. Personally, I feel neighbouring tables should be asked if that’s ok. Every time the dogs shook their coats, hair flew in the sunlight, settling on our table. We kind of “ate it & beat it” after that as there was no chance to “savour the flavours” which were exceptional! Highly recommend the cheese plate to share....

The pie had the soggiest pastry I have ever eaten, and was only warm as managed to tip it onto my plate almost immediately when served with no use of a napkin required. The waiting staff had no idea which real ales were available nor which '3 or 4 flavours of Koppaberg they stocked, it took them 5 minutes to even acknowledge our presence when we arrived! Shame as the setting and decor are impressive so was hoping the food and service would match it but sadly not. I think a little training and management supervision would perhaps help...
