We arrived at 3pm after a walk and asked if they were serving. The waiter said no but landlady said yes; I think this confused or annoyed him.||There was a very stressed young waitress who looked very anxious. 40 mins later we were going to ask on an update when we noticed the young lady looking worried and clearly talking about our table. The waiter chap kept shrugging his shoulders as though it wasnot his problem.||Eventually the food arrived minus any cutlery. When I requested cutlery the young waitess literally slammed five sets of knives and forks down. There was a very awkward silence from us and I considered leaving right there. It was shocking .||The child's veggy plate when it arrived consisted of four pieces of parsnip and two roast potatoes. I was flabbergasted and requested a Yorkshire pudding. No veggy gravy was offered.||The others had beef which they all very much enjoyed.||The food was delicious; the service abysmal . Whilst we appreciate it was later on a Sunday and staff may be tired; we were treated indifferently and the waitress was very rude. We paid the same as folk coming in when the staff were fresh so should have been treated way way better. We think she may have been grumpy because of lack of support from other staff or it may have been her first day; either way it was not something we should have been aware of or concerned about.||In summary our experience was the food was delicious though not veggy friendly and the service was alfal. If you like nice food and rude staff you'll love it; if not...

The staff were lovely and very helpful , especially the young girls working behind the bar and Nettie the following morning. Also, our evening meal was very good.|||Our room was not satisfactory at all. Firstly, there was a dead fly on the windowsill and the window was filthy. The bathroom was well past its sell by date and needs refurbishing. There were black bits all over the floor and the light over the sink did not work. The worst things however was, firstly, we were told that the heating would be coming on later (we arrived about 4.30) but it never did. It was off all evening and in the morning. It had turned very cold on Saturday and we had a most uncomfortable time whilst in the room. As well as this, during the night I was bothered with lots of tiny bites on both my ankles. |All these things wouldn’t have been quite so bad (although unacceptable) if we had paid a cheap price for the room but it was £115 for the night! We go away a lot and we have paid much less for rooms which were 100% better than this one. It is, in fact, the worst room we’ve ever stayed in.|Incidentally, as our food had been good on Saturday evening, we expected a good breakfast but the ingredients were not good, burnt bacon and a horrible, cheap sausage.|We would not consider staying here again even though we...

The nicest people run this establishment. 5 star service all round! Stayed here early August to visit friends locally. The bedroom was very clean, very comfortable and a large selection of lovely teas in the room. We enjoyed a very nicely cooked breakfast and the staff and super friendly in all areas including bar staff. Highly recommend the Ship Inn and the local areas which are beautiful. The most remarkable find was the abandoned pleasure park, Tivoli Park which is over 100 years old. It felt like a freaky find. Would almost feel like a staged art exhibition of Banksy like the Dismaland in Western-Super-Mare. No more to say, go discover yourself.

A nice relaxing pub very difficult to reach by public transport. We arrived on the once a week 482 bus that stops right outside from Lostwithial. Lovely Chesterfield sofas are there to relax in in the left hand room and the pub serves 4 well kept Cornish Real Ales. There is a nice sunny garden and at the bottom of the road towards the River Fowey there are stepping stones and and bridge to cross to the other side where there is a lovely path tho walk alongside the estuary.

A nice welcome that was continued with good, friendly service throughout our visit. There was a good selection of ales and plenty of food choice on the menu supplemented by a specials board from which I had a really tasty lamb shank. With peas. Lots of peas. :-) Above all, the pub is situated in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit.
