Simonburn Tea Room was hands-down my favorite place we stayed during our Hadrian’s Wall trek. Christine and Alex are absolutely lovely people, so warm, friendly, and welcoming. I really appreciated that they picked us up and dropped us off at the HWP, and they were even willing to come and get us as soon as we finished our miles for the day, before the room was ready, so we didn’t have to wait around; such thoughtful hospitality.

The accommodation was comfortable and charming, and their garden is gorgeous. The hamlet is also such a peaceful and beautiful setting. I also really enjoyed chatting with Alex and Christine during our stay; they made us feel completely at home. And the food — I cannot say enough about how delicious it was! I enjoyed the opportunity to dine with the other guests, and that Christine and Alex joined us after the meal to chat.

It was my husband's birthday while we were staying, and they even kindly found a candle for his birthday slice of cake. And they had so many divine cakes to choose from!

This was truly my favorite place to stay on the entire trip. If you’re anywhere near Simonburn or doing the Hadrian's Wall Path, don’t miss the chance to experience this little gem and meet such wonderful hosts. Thank you again, Alex and Christine, for making our...

The new owners of Simonburn Tearooms are fantastic hosts who will do anything for you - We were a group of five cyclists on mountain bikes travelling the Sandstone Way that were caught in torrential rain over the hilltops travelling south from Bellingham. We saw signs for the Simonburn Tea Rooms from the main road and promptly headed into the village. We were greeted by the owners who offered us plenty of towels to get dry; they had no qualms with us being a sodden mess; they put some bags over the seats and turned on the radiator for us to dry off our gloves etc; they got extra heaters out; they even offered to put stuff in the tumble dryer for us. We had hot tea and coffee and most of us opted for the home made corned beef pie with vegetables. It was a life saver; tasty and hearty. We chatted with the owners whilst the worst of the weather passed and they were in no rush for us to leave. They also offer B&B and have storage which is ideal for walkers and cyclists. I hope their business flourishes as they were genuinely friendly, helpful and hard working. They deserve every success in the future. I will definitely call in again the next time I am...

A Beautiful hidden gem of a B&B & Tea Room . Stunning location , Fabulously decorated the art work is a wow ! We were cold & soaked through from the walk , so comforting to find two fires on. Amazing afternoon tea followed by a high powered shower in our immaculate room. Comfortable beds , with a family style dinner , we had a great chit chat with other walkers, loved the whole experience. Warm & Welcoming, thank you so much for being the best kept secret. P.s this is our second trip and we will be back to see our wonderful hosts . Would not hesitate to recommend to all whom enjoy home cooked meals in a friendly atmosphere, Interesting Hosts, A licensed bar ( yep we needed a drink, was most welcomed to find a bar sore feet ). My partner loved the shampoos provided . If you’re walking the wall it’s a must stop. Enjoy its...

Stunning location but service and products were not so great. We were invited to sit inside as it was chilly out. I sat in a room off to one side and was told someone would come and serve. However I waited and waited. The room emptied of other customers and I was still waiting. A grumpy young lass finally came and took our order after a chap walked in and was surprised ro see us sat there. When our order came it was only half there. I sat and watched my husband eat expecting mine any time soon. Eventually I gave up and went and chased it. It wasn't so busy so I don't know what went wrong. The young lady serving really didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I had to laugh at a sign on the wall saying service with a smile. We didn't get one. Food was ok. May go again for location as it is lovely spot.

Absolutely wonderful B&B in a quaint town along the Hadrians wall path. Hosts were great, dinner was a delicious and my room was spacious and well appointed with an awesome view. Breakfast was also great and arranged pickup and drop off service along the wall so you don’t need to trek along the road to arrive. We arranged for a pickup at the Crown Inn in Humshaugh (delightful spot for a post hike pint) The small hamlet (forgive me I am American not sure if this is correct) has a beautiful church to walk to and visit, well worth a walk around the grounds and be sure to go inside and sign the guest book. I was told by the B&B hosts they love to see the visitors and where they are from.

Had an opportunity to stay at the Tearooms for 1 night during our 9 day Hadrians Wall walk. Cant say enough about our stay - the beautiful gardens that you are welcome to use, the pretty settings, the comfortable room and delicious dinner. The beer after the long days walk in the garden was so relaxing and the family style dinner ( book ahead) was delicious. Alex picked us up and dropped us off from our hike ending and start points easily and breakfast was plentiful for another days hike.
