Stayed here for a 4 nights (camping) having found this place on a camping site... I travelled over from Northern Ireland via the Larne to Cairnryan Ferry and rode my motorcycle 250 miles down to Squires Cafe Bar and found it to be everything it was advertised as being... A Mecca for bikers, this establishment offers shelter from the elements within walls holding historical memories and much more... People sit around in small groups recounting stories and discussing the various problems encountered when You own a motorcycle...lol (There is even an onsite Motorcycle clothing facility (independently run) but it is bound to have something to tempt You without hurting the pocket very much...) The staff in the Bar are friendly and helpful and the meals are very tasty and reasonably priced... A BIG SHOUT OUT to Vicky and the other staff who served me Drinks and Food during my stay As are the various beverages on offer... The campsite facilities are great, the other users respectful and friendly in equal measure. This place hosts various events throughout the year and becomes a focal spot for hundreds of enthusiasts... Not far off the M1 and yet feels far enough from civilization to be quaint... So no excuse not to visit this place be it for a coffee and a slice of cake or to stay for a while, either way the only disappointment will probably be upon leaving... By the way, if You enjoy Bird watching, there are Red Kites to be seen everyday soaring overhead... I hope to return very soon... Maybe this time I'll get better weather but it didn't dampen my enjoyment throughout my stay... Many thanks to...
Read moreI remember when Squires was in Sherburn-in-Elmet. Small cafe, small village, huge bike turn out. It has been some 42 years since I last went to Squires and I was very pleasantly surprised. The once small cafe is now a large pub with what looked like amazing food. I wasn't hungry so I just had a whippy ice cream that was lovely. There is also an on site motorbike shop that sells everything to do with biking except selling motorbikes. I don't think they sell motorbikes but there is a 'For Sale Board' in the pub. I believe it was. £4 a month. My husband bought a new helmet and an armoured hoodie. The prices were very competitive. I am not sure, if, due to covid, they are having to give up their shop but at the moment they have a sale on. It was lovely to see all the different bikes. The bikers themselves were very friendly and always on hand if I needed any help. (I am a wheelchair user). I laughed and joked with people I didn't know. The whole atmosphere was so good. Staff were kind, courteous, helpful and friendly. Although I can no longer be a pillion passenger nor a rider, I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit. I had a superb...
Read moreHaving only passed my CBT one month ago, I was quite nervous to pull up with L plates on my 125. Upon arrival on a Wednesday afternoon it was very busy to my surprise!
After parking near the entrance, I walked down to the café enjoying looking at the bikes of all shapes and sizes before getting a drink and returning to one of a dozen benches outside to watch people come and go.
Beside me was an older gentleman who spoke to me at length about Bikes, his bike, his biking life, and what he gets up to. As my first time meeting fellow riders, it was incredible to get talking to someone and also have 1-2 admiring my more rarer seen 125 Aprilia Tuono whilst leaving.
I cannot wait to return and spend an entire afternoon Bike watching during the summer, may even work up the courage to attend next weekends Easter Ride.
To round it off the ride there is spectacular, especially passing so many bikers willing to acknowledge (nod) along the route, which has been hit and miss whilst out and about thus far in my experience.
Thanks for having me, and shout out to the old lad on the Blue Triumph who was kind enough to chat to me for...
