Just had a delicious lunch at St Aubyn Arms. After weeks of trying to go (work and being on holiday) my family and I managed to go to St Aubyn Arms and we weren't disappointed. From first moment we stepped in to a friendly welcome from the relaxed barman to seating and eating an incredibly tasty meal we knew we'd struck gold. The pub is very clean and tidy with a lovely tasteful decor. The tables well spaced apart so your not feeling like you're eating over people. The menu was very good loads of choices so sure something for everyone. My wife had the sweetcorn and tuna sandwich, my son had the children burger and I had Ham,Egg and chips which all three meals were cooked/made to perfection couldn't fault anything. Whilst waiting for our meal we had a look around the garden which was clean and tidy with good amount of seating plus a bar for the busier times save the walk to the bar. There was toys for the younger guests which myself and son enjoyed ! Drinks were cold fresh and went down a treat. Couldn't fault a thing would recommend this place to all and dont be put off by parking good size car park and £1.50 for 2 hours isnt an issue and think you can get refund off bill with your ticket stub but wasnt worried about that just all round wonderful meal and...
Read moreFirstly , apologies to the Staff and Owners of the establishment for the late review. It appears that I was the first person to grace the pub for a stop over. I arrived after completing my days work over in Redruth. I was warmly welcomed and shown to my room , with the kind staff member going through the full itinerary for me. Evening meal was lovely and freshly cooked. Beer was decently priced and well kept. Although a bit quiet for a Monday night, there were plenty of passers through. Room was clean, with lovely fresh bedding and comfy bed. Only complaint about the room was the position of the TV....fixed flat on a wall diagonally opposite the bed making it uncomfortable to watch . Suggest a swivel mounting . Breakfast was a bit of a let down for me personally, as a non - healthy eater, I didn't fancy the Continental Breakfast fare provided. Although everything one could have asked for as a Continental, I would have killed for a bacon sandwich at least to start the day !!. As a stop over for a single traveller , I would happily recommend The St Aubyn , but until a full fare breakfast menu can be offered I suggest it's not for...
Read moreI would not recommend this pub for food. Made trip for the pizza night and it was not good. Pizzas seemed like they were frozen, at best pre-bought bases, and not fresh. Sent 2 pizzas back to the kitchen. Ordered beef Lasagne for my young son and they brought out vegetable Lasagne. When I mentioned it they said the Beef Lasagne has vegetables in it. So I cut it open to show them there was no beef and they then took it back and brought out a beef lasagna 10 mins later (this was after waiting an hour for the food already). Gave waitresses the feedback on the meal, but nothing was done. Cannot understand the 4.7 rating?
UPDATE Changing rating to a 3. The owner called me, apologised and offered a full refund. Can't ask for any more than that, and shows that the establishment cares about their customers. Looks like I had a one-off...
