Stable Tea Rooms — Restaurant in England

Was always a favourite of mine, previously gave this one 5*,, especially before and during the covid scare, since covid is over, I think they have had new management in and its changed.. Table service has gone for a start and the food has gone from really good to just above average and (above average because the food is from Manor farm and thus top quality,) therefore expensive for what it is. Bearing in mind, you can't change a breakfast, not allowed. so, a Small breakfast at £7 goes large for an extra £2 to £9 and they put 2 horrible hash browns and a little pot of beans on the side. I suppose that I should have read the menu properly,, they do actually warn you about it, but I was hungry . Seriously, i was expecting 2 eggs, 2 Sausages and 2 Slices of toast on a go large breakfast and hold the beans.. At least the Beans were in a pot so they were unable to drown my little sausage, heaven forbid. Summary, Not sure that I will try the Sunday roast, no offence. I'm still hungry so I'm off to the Crown in West Harptree for lunch....

Friend and I ordered jacket potatoes. My friend was about to eat and noticed mould on the ends of some of the grated cheese. Gave the dishes back and prepared to leave. Went to the counter to get a refund and someone came back from the kitchen and said, 'they said it was parsley'. We are both chefs by trade and it was clearly not parsley as ot was a bluey green colour, the colour that pregrated cheese goes of its been hanging around too long in a bag. It wouldn't have been so bad if we'd had an apology but all we got was the voice of a washer woman shouting rather loudly from the kitchen 'there's nothing wrong with the cheese'. Won't be going back and have to thank them really as we ended up at The Crown, in Churchill where we had an amazing meal.and the staff were...

The place looks amazing, but unfortunately they dont treat their cutomers well. When we went inside to order. The woman at the counter was extremley rude because my friend was wearing a headscarf. When we wanted to order the roast beef she said you need to book it and she said there was only chicken avaiable. We took soup and coffee and when we asked about the roast beef one of the waitresses said it was avaiable and you have to go order at the counter. This is very unprofessional and the woman at the counter was very discrimating because of the head scarf. I cant believe this is happening...
