I just want to preface by saying Iām not one to leave bad reviews. For reference my preferred drink of choice at Starbucks is an iced coffee that is on the menu with a couple of pumps of syrup and sweet cream. This morning was my first time visiting this new branch. I was served by an older woman, as I began placing my order the first thing she said to me was āoh itās not one of those Instagram drinks is it that ends up being about Ā£9ā with a sour look on her face, I said that yes it was something I found online awhile back and itās typically what I have these days. But again, all it was, was an extra couple of pumps of syrup and cream. Feeling awkward by the tension the comment created I mentioned that Iād heard some baristas like it when customers change it up, and she said that āfortunatelyā not many people do it because they donāt always have the time to be messing around when they have other things to do and cars in the drive through because they only get 3 minutes per car and āeveryone gets cold drinks go figureā⦠?? Itās worth noting that I was the only physical customer total in the whole shop and there were 3 cars in the drive through, 3 baristas making drinks. And then added ābut as long as youāre happy to pay for your drinkā⦠why would I order it if I wasnāt? As I waited for my order, this same lady was making my drink, I overheard her expressing contempt at having to make the sweet cream. Another younger barista made the other drink I ordered, which was a very plain very simple black americano and she placed it on the counter and just said āblack americanoā no eye contact nothing at all and placed it down near her end of the counter, made no effort to pass it to me. Which is a small detail, and quite possibly nothing to do with me, but at that point added to how unwelcome I felt.
I understand we all have bad days and working in this type of industry can be stressful, Iāve worked in customer facing roles my entire life, including coffee shops where things like food are made to order (which is another element of work that Starbucks baristas donāt even have to worry about) so I have complete sympathy for people who work in this industry and again Iām not the type to go around leaving bad reviews because a service worker wasnāt a happy ray of sunshine FOR ME. I just really felt like this experience was so unpleasant for a branch that is new, was not busy whatsoever and also for being Starbucks of all coffee shop chains. As an employee, of all coffee shops this is the place you can absolutely expect people to experiment with their orders. Where customers do feel comfortable to customise their drinks, unlike other chains. Never have I ever been made to feel bad for my drink order at any other Starbucks in and around Scunthorpe, other cities, European countries or the US where the chain and concept originated. And all this considering how my order wasnāt even as crazy as some peopleās can get. I wonāt be returning to this branch, as Iām sure the staff will be happy to hear after this review and since my custom is such a hindrance on their quiet mornings. But I donāt know, maybe if youāre expecting to be making white coffees and teas all day go work at Costa or anywhere else where their entire marketing and popularity doesnāt revolve around trendy,...

I didn't use the drive through so service I gave 3 stars because everytime it's warm never hot. I have to ask everytime for them to reheat the coffee. Rather than put the coffee under the steamer to reheat properly it's just thrown away and another one is made, that's why we pay so much for it in the first place.....so wasteful.
The interior decor is always clean and tidy which is good to see, however it's rarely busy so there is no atmosphere at all very clinical and quiet. The staff are pleasant, greeted as I walk upto the counter to order but then nothing until your name called. This can be a.blessing to some but seems in a social setting coffee shop you need people that can be chatty & friendly not just robots.
This review is just nothing new for a big chain coffee location they are all the same that's their business model to keep consistency and serve warm coffee to fend off any potential lawsuits for burning someone. Not much else to describe a Starbucks really it's expensive , clinical, but...

The young lady on the till was very pleasant and apologised numerous times for the very long delay in receiving our drinks. I am aware of was reasonably busy but not exceptionally so but the drinks took an age to arrive husbands was far too hot mine was incorrect and had to be replaced. We usually enjoy a visit to Starbucks Barton is excellent, but this experience has put us off using this outlet again which is very sad as this is closest...
