Was here for lunch today. The guy at the next table politely commented to the waitress (who was very nice throughout and I felt very sorry for) that the burgers were bit dry, which they were. Then the chef appeared and shouted abuse at the guy across the restaurant. It was terrible and ruined their, and our lunch.
When we paid at the end, we pointed out politely to the waitress that the guy had been unprofessional. She just nodded. Having now read other reviews online it would seem that this wasn't an isolated incident and in all likelihood she has probably had to suffer this sort of incident before.
We thought that would be an end to it, but incredibly the manager actually followed us into the car park to have a go at me for giving feedback to the waitress about the rude shouting chef. My friend is not one to back down and followed him back in in a non-confrontational way and again, politely explained that the whole thing was utterly unprofessional, to which, the chef and manager did agree and said 'fair enough'. It was just ridiculous
I have never experienced anything like this before, it was completely uncalled for and unpleasant. The food was average too - certainly nothing special, not that that would in any way justify the behavior that we had to witness
There are a number of pubs in the area so I suggest unless you like very average food and witnessing / being abused by staff, that you give this place a miss, it was nothing short of disgraceful.
Left this review elsewhere on the web too to warn people about the shocking attitude of the...
Read moreAh, The Swan with Two Necks. What a truly memorable experience. We had the distinct honor of being the very first through their hallowed doors at precisely 12 PM, eager patrons ready to... well, eventually order. A mere 25 minutes later, our presence was finally acknowledged, and our culinary desires were graciously noted. Then came the interlude. A leisurely 80-minute period where one could truly contemplate the intricacies of the restaurant's decor (or lack thereof) while anticipating the gastronomic delights to come. And all this in a practically empty establishment! One can only imagine the efficiency during peak hours. My jacket potato with the promised trio of tuna mayonnaise and red onion finally graced the table. It was... unique. The red onion, clearly an elusive ingredient that day, was absent. And the tuna mayonnaise? A revolutionary soup-like concoction that boldly defied all known laws of mayonnaise. The waitress, bless her nonchalant heart, seemed entirely unfazed by this culinary marvel, casually dismissing it as 'just one of them days' to a neighboring table. Such professionalism! So, after a delightful 1 hour and 45 minutes, during which no actual eating occurred, we departed. A truly unforgettable visit to The Swan with Two Necks – an establishment that redefines the meaning of 'slow food' and customer service. Highly recommended... if you enjoy competitive waiting and deconstructed...
Read moreWe have been coming to the Swan with Two Nicks in Sharnbrook for over 20 years. Our family has eaten here over all this time and we've brought friends and relatives on many occasions. We've even brought relatives from the USA to show them a good, local British pub and they really enjoyed it.
There's always a welcome and we enjoy eating here as we always have done. We prefer the bar tables to eat at, as there's more going on but the dining room is also pleasant.
The food is good and particularly under the latest landlady everything has been smartened up in this friendly pub.
This time, we had a meal here on Wednesday's Pie Night and really enjoyed it. Walking in on spec after a day minding a temperamental grandchild, we wondered if it would be OK but it wasn't an issue. We found a table in the bar and settled to chat and have a drink. Service was good and if our food was a little slow arriving, it didn't matter and our pies were worth the wait, anyway.
Beer is usually well kept here and I can usually find a good pint. My wife went for a low alcohol G&T....thanks for stocking some low alcohol drinks!
All in all? 5-stars. Thanks to everyone at The...
