The Bay Horse — Restaurant in England

First visit for us, Sat 15 Feb 2025. We were taken to the Bay Horse by friends. They had been many times before and everything they had told us about it was true.

I can't say much about the exterior as it was night time when we arrived, so not a lot to see.

Inside. really very nice there was a large bar area where you could eat, but as we had booked we were shown into the restaurant. Nicely spaced out and much quieter than the bar.

Once we were settled with a drink we were present with a VERY comprehensive menu. The waitress, actually I think it may have been the owner/manageress, was very friendly and spent a bit of time chatting with us.

There was a good selection of wine at very reasonable prices. The food arrive quickly and was as ordered and Very Hot. all in all we had a very enjoyable evening and will be back when we are on our next visit.

I hope then to be able to see the outside of the place as I believe there is much more to the Bay Horse that just the pub.

I ordered steak which is edible if not enjoyable in 99% of places but unfortunately not here, the piece of meat I was served looked like it had been boiled, pale in colour and very watery, thick at one end and thin at the other which makes it impossible to cook it how you ask (which to be honest had no preference but was asked) and a taste that shouldn't come with meat. If I had encountered only one of these problems I'd of just put it down to a bad night and possibly returned. you just shouldn't serve food like this. I hate to say it but I wouldn't recommend...

Fantastic customer service. Had 3x3courses Sunday dinner. Plenty and delicious great value for money . £12.75 for our 3 course meal . Per person. Had 2 prawn cocktail, salad love n fresh.
