The Bell End is everything you could hope for in a country pub: warm ambience, excellent dinks (including a local stout) and a cheerful staff. The food portions are enormous and tasty. Well worth traveling the lanes for.

I don't drink alcohol and mistakenly thinking it was closed, I was ushered in, and immediately felt @ home. A genuine friendliness pours from ALL the staff. It's real folks! Bigger inside than it looks, informal interior and a lovely al fresco drinking/eating space outside with an unexpected covered nook that doubles as a band-stand. What's not to like? A new Portuguese chef (Augusto) is on the case and likes to mingle. Cherie, the landlady, is a singer with ongoing band connections and is committed to make music part...

Had a really excellent Sunday roast lunch today. Lovely spicey soup followed by roast pork, and oodles of tasteful veg. Good draught beer. You have a choice of "normal" size or small. The normal was ample so regrettably had no room for dessert. A really lovely village pub as it should be. We will call again, and you should too. The mains were £12 to £17 or so. Very good value as...

Rang for an early fri eve table for food and got in no problem. Not crowded at all, and served by friendly staff. Small limited menu with some specials for dessert. Had the squid to start and southern fried chicken, chips and coleslaw which was all delicious. Decent sized portions so no room for pud. Definitely...
