Stayed over in Bath for a couple of days and this restaurant was recommended by a friend for authentic Indian food. Fantastic little spot which was a short drive from Bath city centre. Very quick service considering the restaurant was very busy whilst still serving flavoursome piping hot food. Well worth the visit, will come back again defo. The servers and owner of the restaurant were very pleasant, had a chat with them and they recommended a few places to visit before leaving Bath. They have a small car park right next to the restaurant.

This is the worst Indian in the world, horrific in every way. Please take the time to read the full review on the photos or on facebook before visiting. You will thank me later. If you don't have time to do that, just get a ready meal. It will save you time, money and tons more flavour. I am waiting for a response a full refund from the owners of the restaurant so please get in touch via Facebook at your earliest opportunity if you care about your customers.

Food was utterly delicious. Everything that we tasted was really good. Friendly staff. Apparently the restaurant doesn't hold a alcohol licence but you can bring your own. Ideally you will need to book a table, according to staff. The only but was the bill, it did not specify what you were charge for. (I know we had the menus when we order but we didn't check the prices). Still very reasonable price. Would still comeback

First time in The Bengal Bear with my Dad and Brother as a bit of a last minute catch up.

Things didn't start well as we arrived to see no alcoholic bevvies on the drinks menu! It turns out that the Bengal Bear is BYOB (our fault for not realising). As such we sent my Dad off to get some beers and nibbled some pappadums.

With the arrival of the beers we asked for a bottle opener and some glasses which i'll be honest took a little too long to turn up.

After this fairly inauspicious start the food started to turn up, the onion bhajis were the best i've ever had, small and light instead of big and stodgy. Chicken tikka was lush as was the butterfly king prawn. The mains were even better, my lamb malaber was absolutely delicious!!

Great food, un-obtrusive service and despite the initial shock and terror, BYOB (no corkage) means you can keep the bill down without compromising on quality.

Will definitely reccomend and hopefully...

My partner ( Katie) were at this restaurant last night. Katie booked a table via Facebook for 7pm. On arrival we were greeted and welcomed in a lovely friendly manner. We were shown to a table for two in Bay window, with a view down Box high street. It is a BYO here and the waiting staff were helpful in assisting in opening the wine we bought. The decor in the restaurant is modern, clean but with a cosy feel. The menu had a good choice of meals to choose from. I must say the Chicken Madras I had was possibly the best I've ever had. The chicken portions were very generous and cut to a good size, it was moisture and tender. The sauce had just the right amount of spice to make hot with burning your taste buds. Overall we were super impressed with our dining experience here, thank you to the staff who helped make the celebrations that bit...

I’m not sure the comment section is big enough to express how much my family enjoyed our meal tonight!!

To start we were greeted with a warm welcome and such friendly staff. They made me feel at ease straight away and when eating out with young children it makes such a difference to feel comfortable.

Moving on to the food the waiter was lovely, the food came out quickly and every single one of the 6 (different) main dishes were so tasty, thoroughly enjoyed and really well presented. The sides were delicious too!

We honestly couldn’t be happier with our meal at The Bengal...
