Horrific experience, came here with my family for food, barmaid told us no tables for an hour, as I was explaining to my 3 year old son why we had to go find somewhere else a male member of staff stepped in told us we could have a table, sat in a conservatory area with plenty of spare tables, bar maid must not of liked the Newcastle accent or the look of us which I would say she shouldn’t be working in hospitality if she is turning customers away for the sake of it! Food was basic pub food halloumi fries was the best part, cheeseburger was disgusting I wouldn’t feed it to a dog! To put the Cherry on the top of this experience a rude family found my family to be their topic of conversation calling us disgusting for my 3 year old sitting with an iPad and continued to talk about us for the whole time they were there, considering there was no music playing or tv noise we could hear every word said calling me disgusting for having a old moat cider with my meal, absolutely terrible behaviour infront of children, and If my children were not present I would have confronted the man but I am my children’s role model so I chose to behave in an appropriate manner ignore nasty comments. To make it even worse the bar maid who tried to turn us away then said to the rude family I’m sorry about the company you have!! my children behaved so well and we spoke among ourselves minding our business waiting for our food! I have never experienced anything like this in my life, the male member of staff who’s name I didn’t catch is the best part about this place! If your looking for a pleasant time and a nice meal...

Received a very warm welcome on arrival The Blue Bell is situated in a beautiful tranquil area Stunning scenery and a wealth of open spaces to explore Our room was spacious clean and well equipped Having a fridge was a welcome bonus Sitting looking out at one of the two windows in our room was picturesque and chilling We had evening meal there the first night The menu was varied local sourced ingredients and very delicious The price was exceptionally good value for the three course meal.We rarely eat in the hotel restaurant twice were we stay The Blue Bell Inn was exception to this We were not disappointed on our second night. Breakfast was again good quality. There is a choice of fruit and cereal and several cooked options avaiable. The staff were pleasant friendly and professional.Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend a trip here if to have an overnight stay or to eat .Both evenings we were there the place was full of guests dining so it is advisable to book first . To top it off I left my boots in the room and contacted the staff who posted them to my home address.Thankyou for going out of your way during and after our stay You have left a positive impression on us. Please also advise on the cost you incurred so that I can reimburse you Thankyou we...

We recently stayed here - my son was running the Edinburgh Marathon and we just needed a room the night before, we wanted the night after as well but there wasn’t any availability sadly. Although the accommodation was just over an hour's drive from the city, it worked perfectly for us since we couldn't find a place within Edinburgh unless we wanted to pay a silly premium. The room was nicely presented and just big enough for a night’s stop, equipped with everything we needed. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. We had to leave early the next morning at around 5:30am, which meant we would miss breakfast, but they kindly prepared a little pack-up for each of us the night before, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was quite warm with the four of us, so the small fan provided was very handy. The entire booking and checkout process was smooth and hassle-free. We would definitely stay here again.

Booked this as a birthday treat for my wife we looked at Google reviews for the area we were staying in. the menu was a little different from the one online but still a good selection we had the chicken and haggis and pork and black pudding stack then.profierolls and jam sponge and custard everything was good I just didn't like the sweet sauce on the pork but that was just my taste and had no veg with it but as my wife had loads I just pinched a little from hers . nice helpful staff and didn't feel rushed it's quite tight when busy in the main bar so booking ahead is recommended

Booked as a stop over on our way up to Scotland. We aimed to reach here for 6 pm but due to traffic and weather conditions we arrived at 10pm. We knew that the restaurant closed at 8:30 pm, so we called them from the car. They were very helpful and sorted out sandwiches for when we arrived. The family room was large and very well decorated. It was nice that the toilet and shower were in separate sections. The beds were very comfy. The choice for breakfast in the morning was great (you ordered the night before). I had the full works very tasty. Definitely will stay there again.
