I’m not just saying this, but quite frankly the best country pub we have EVER been too! Not just country pub, but pub in general! The staff who work here are lovely, made us feel so so so welcomed, they were so polite and talkative so a massive thanks for that. It is a dog friendly pub which is a win win, they gave our little doggo treats too which she was very happy about. I ordered the Carps loaded burger and my partner ordered the chicken fillet burger, we haven’t stopped speaking about it since we had it; it was possibly the BEST burger we have ever tried and the portions are massive for such a great price!!!! Unfortunately we don’t live near by we are just visiting for a week but we will be back for sure. Thank you once again for being so lovely to us and the great food! Also a mini gift shop inside which sells really lovely things and even doggo ice cream 🄰 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Such a brilliant new era for The Carps. Local microbrewery Heathen Soul have taken it over recently and done a awesome job renovating. Kept the old charm. Just doing drinks for August, their own brews plus local ales and ciders.Already packed with friendly faces. The live music has been spot on too. Opening weekend had Wasson Shout singing and last weekend the Kit Hillbillies were great. Really nice to see the pub back in the community. Food is set to start in September and I’m already excited for that!

Really friendly, clean and oldie worldie pub, good choice of beers and food at reasonable prices and to top it of dogs are welcome. Just ashame we found this place at the end of our week's holiday as we would have been regulars this week, we enjoyed it that much

On holiday close by this pub and called in today for a spot of lunch. Lovely sunny day so sat outside with my wife and pooch. On going into the pub I was met by member of staff (believe her name is Wendy? I apologise if it isn't!!) What a fantastic welcome I had in there. Felt like a regular and the service she gave was wonderful. Food was great and the beer equally good. Got chatting to regulars outside who gave hints on where to walk the dog. I just wish my own local pub felt as friendly as this did. Wendy stated that she had been working there for just 8 months and I can honestly say that she is a credit to the owners of the establishment!!!. Already booked in for Sunday lunch and looking forward to a number of visits this week!! Fabulous!!! And many thanks for such a wonderful...

I was down in Harrowbarrow visiting my family and I popped along with my Mum, nephew and niece. The lady serving us was superb, entertained the kids and provided us a colouring book to keep them entertained. The drinks and food arrived promptly, all of the food was good but I went for fillet medallions off the specials board and it was absolutely superb, way above what I would class as 'pub food'. Full credit to the chef, the lady serving and the land lady who was around helping too. I had heard it was nice in there from my brother-in-law (I have only been in for a few beers previously over the years) but it was way above what I was...
