This is a traditional and overall nice little country pub , there is plenty of room , it's dog friendly and everyone seems to appreciate our four legged friends, the food range is limited , there are lots of grills and burgers but pies , pasta less so.The burger I tried was the Butcher's Burger which was very good , there was a hearty amount and it could easily overwhelm a smaller appetite, there is not too long a wait either. The elephant in the room as I saw it was the apparent conflict with the age old Local or Tourist debate ! Clearly it matters not to me , a tourist , but the locals believe the new management pander to outsiders. The staff here were all really friendly and James discussed my dietary needs with me but food was very limited as it has only recently had a change of ownership. The pub is steeped in history and it was so refreshing to see evidence of this from chairs with name plaques to photos of past landlords, the barmaid was a delight to talk to and she obviously remembers previous customers and landlords. I do hope they don't loose the wonderful character of a traditional village pub. Lovely beer garden and when we are in the area again we will definitely be visiting. Thank-you for making us...

I wast disappointed lots off choice on the menu,I only wanted light bites but their was something on the menu for all tastes,very resanbelly priced great choice off local cidars Staff were so friendly and helpful lovely old pub the type that so hard to find these days I will definitely return make such a nice change to find a village pub open at lunch times so .many in the area...
