This is a traditional and overall nice little country pub , there is plenty of room , it's dog friendly and everyone seems to appreciate our four legged friends, the food range is limited , there are lots of grills and burgers but pies , pasta less so.The burger I tried was the Butcher's Burger which was very good , there was a hearty amount and it could easily overwhelm a smaller appetite, there is not too long a wait either. The elephant in the room as I saw it was the apparent conflict with the age old Local or Tourist debate ! Clearly it matters not to me , a tourist , but the locals believe the new management pander to outsiders. I mention it because it was present , i hope the local do understand that although we won't be there in cold December nights , neither will they if the balance is not...

Would love to revisit once the new owner has got everything up and running properly. The staff here were all really friendly and James discussed my dietary needs with me but food was very limited as it has only recently had a change of ownership. The pub is steeped in history and it was so refreshing to see evidence of this from chairs with name plaques to photos of past landlords, the barmaid was a delight to talk to and she obviously remembers previous customers and landlords. I do hope they don't loose the wonderful character of a traditional village pub. Lovely beer garden and when we are in the area again we will definitely be visiting. Thank-you for making us...

Visited here for a birthday party, food was nice, big portions, bit of an issue getting to the bar as all the locals sit right at the bar and don’t move so hard to order a drink. Ordered a brandy and coke drink was disgusting as coke had just ran out so it was filled with some vile flavoured liquid, if the people weren’t all perched at the bar would of asked to have it changed, in future maybe don’t serve people the dregs.

We used the overnight facility here with a campervan. ÂŁ15 for the night with electric hook up. Quiet spot and the power was good for us to run a small heater all night. Had dinner and a chilled of drink at the pub. It was Saturday night in January so we didn't have any issues getting a table but I think that might be different in the summer. Great atmosphere at the bar with lots of really friendly locals.

Great service and nice selection of food, on Wednesday it's a roast although the vegetable are a bit under cooked but that won't hurt anyone, l opted for the Steak and Ale Pie, really nice and tasty and plenty of meat. The server was rushed off of his feet but never seem to bother him in fact in he thrived on it. Nice pub and plenty of parking and dog friendly too
