Has potential but disappointed.

Visited for Sunday lunch. Venue is beautiful, so unique and well decorated. No one greeted us when entering / there wasn’t a member of waiting staff visible so we went to the bar, ordered drinks and were then told we couldn’t add the drinks to our lunch tab and had to pay separately. We were informed we needed to see a different member of staff about our table reservation. Had to wait for this different member of staff to appear, and when they did they didn’t know the computer password so couldn’t book us in right away. We were provided with a bottle of tap water on request, but no glasses so had to use the wine glasses on the table. Once sat, our table ordered a full fat and a diet coke. The waitress arrived with them and announced she did not know which was which and left us to figure it out. When presented with our roast dinners, we were told the kitchen had forgotten the crackling and stuffing, and so that would come separately / later. Unfortunately, the crackling was cold. The roast dinner was nice but the parsnips were almost raw and no-one could cut into them so they were left. Portion sizes were good and lots of gravy provided. After our roast dinner plates were cleared, we were not visited a further time. This meant we were not offered further drinks or a look at the dessert menu which was disappointing. We waited for over 30 minutes, possibly even 45, before deciding to walk downstairs to the till and request the bill. Would love to visit again as the venue was so beautiful but will maybe stick to cake and a...

Family mixed meal We are local to Cotford and after several great takeaways during lockdown decided that after 5 years to go for a sit down meal with family. We had a mix of 4 adults, a teenager and a 5 and 8 year old.

From the start our guests were impressed with the ambience and decor, Sarah and the waiters showed us to our table and took a drinks order. The menu was an impressive array of Thai, pizza and burgers which was plenty for all of our different appetites. Cory was taking our orders and was possibly the most polite and helpful waiter I’ve ever seen.

Our starters arrived being a mix of sharing platters and garlic pizza bread for the boys, we cleared it all and most of the salad too. I began to wonder if I would get to the dessert.

Cory and then Josh came along to clear the plates away and asked we wanted more drinks, which of course we had, and within a few minutes they arrived.

Our mains which were pizzas, Thai and burgers arrived with a welcome side order of hallumi fries and nearly filled the table, it’s was all hot and delicious. We knew when it was coming because Cory popped along and said the pizzas were going in the oven next.

Regrettably I was too full for the desserts so will have to go back and maybe start in reverse this time.

A note about the Covid precautions, it is very well signed and you feel quite safe being inside, the other diners and drinkers all seemed very aware of the Chapels ‘resocialize’ policy.

Well done to all the Chapel team, we really enjoyed ourselves, will be back for a...

We booked a table for six at the Chapel for a family meal on a Saturday evening. The buidling is fantastic, wonderful exposed roof timbers and a very open cavernous interior and an excellent job has been done on the restoration and conversion to a bar resturant. The menu is extensive, although it seems to attempt to offer Thai dishes, Pizza and Burgers and seems to fulfil none sucessfully. I had the Jungle Curry, described as very hot- by the way - its not. Others in my party ordered Pizza's and chose Goats Cheese and Caramelized Onion with Olives, not something I would have chosen personally, but each to their own. Unfortunately they were unable to eat them as they were so bland and soggy that we requested they were removed from the bill. Other problems included a limited deserts menu, with half of it unavailable making it almost a binary choice. There was no cream available for coffee. Upon paying the large bill we were then told it was incorrect and it was short by around £4 which was for a drink that had been sent to the table right at the end of the meal. Upon questioning this to the manager we were treated very rudely and he stormed off with the drink after finally shouting that he would "take it off the bill!". I found it all rather amusing but several of the party were upset by his aggressive attitude. My amusement was tempered somewhat by the large bill and disappointing food. Difficult to recommend especially as we had to wait so long for the...

We went yesterday for the bottomless Mezze. It was £35 each and we had a choice of 2 menu options and a list of cocktails to choose from. It was the best bottomless we've ever been to. The amount of food literally felt bottomless too... and tasted amazing. The cheese board was beautiful, literally put ourselves into a cheese coma. Any food that was left over they offered to put into a pizza box for us to take home. The cocktails were really nice. The Gin Refresher was our favourite, so much so that we had 3 of those each. The staff that were serving us were so lovely and nothing was any trouble. Would 100% recommend this. You do need to book a week in advance, but this is absolutely not a problem to do, infact I booked it over messenger without any issues. The building was stunning and such a nice atmosphere. Cannot recommend this enough. Thank you, The Chaple... this is just what we needed to relax and spend some time together after a really tough couple of months ❤️

Sunday lunch is a big no unfortunately. It's a shame such a beautiful place has such bad food on a Sunday.... If you do a good Sunday lunch any establishment will be busy on the weekend and it worried me when I walked in that it was very quiet. Beef was nice but cold. Portion sizes are on the small side and didn't look much different to the child's portion... not great for a £14 roast. But what ruined it the most was the gravy. It was like pouring water over your dinner! No taste and was so watery it just seeped through the food onto the plate like a swimming pool. Walk ins were asking for a table (of which there was plenty) and staff would have to ask the kitchen if they could accommodate. I think management need to re-evaluate things as it was the worst roast I have ever paid for. We will unfortunately not be returning. Shame...

What a find! In the middle of a housing estate was this little gem. From walking into the Chapel I couldn't believe my eyes. There is so much to take in and I mean that in a good way 🙂. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Chevaughn served us today she told us some of the history of the building when asked and gave us some books to look through while waiting for our food. Even though upsides wasn't open for sitting she let my husband go and look around and take photos to show me. The food was beautiful. There was a little issue with starters but that was resolved quickly and the Chef came out to apologise. Our main was beautiful and hot chocolate fudge cake to end was awesome. I think the locals are very lucky to have a Pub/Thai restaurant on their doorstep. When we pass through again we will definitely be back x
