I came across The Cheshire Yeoman with my children and wife. The outside wasn't attractive, but the inside was very well decorated. We were very hungry at the time after a 4 hour journey from London. We were greeted by a off beer smell which wasn't the nicest smell but I would expect that from a pub. The décor was very nice inside, kept very well. Our menus were given to us 10 minutes after we arrived and the orders were taken pretty much straight after we got the menus so we didn't have much time to decide. The table was not booked, but the pub wasn't very full. The food was given to us 45 minutes after we arrived. The food wasn't disgusting, but it wasn't traditional pub food like we were expecting. The service was slow and slightly rude, but it wasn't the worst we'd had. I also felt like we were being rushed along although I'm not certain we were. The dishes were slightly dirty around the edge and the glasses weren't the cleanest but overall it was a OK experience. I probably wouldn't go there again and I wouldn't...
Read moreBooked at last minute online and so happy we did food was amazing and plenty of it, we went for the 3 course deal and added the extra meat , from the starters to the mains and desserts everything was spot on lively and hot and tasty , the pate and pea and ham soup was so tasty and fresh the entire mains were beautiful and veg was slightly crunch just how I like it , the red wine gravy was out of this world and desserts were amazing , iv been looking for Rum & Raisin ice cream for ages and finally found it , I asked for an extra 2 scoops as thought it would be a small serving, my mistake it was huge 😀 the only thing they could offer me after all that would have been a couch to lay down on x
We have eaten at 3 other places in area since moving but by far this was the best Sunday dinner so far, we won't be going any were else from now on, all the staff were so lovely and helpful even though they were busy.
Top marks all round team cheshire yeoman.

The food was atrocious, it's like the chef had had the food described to him but had never eaten before and just made it how he thought it should be made. No one needs half a raw red onion on their toasted cheese and onion sandwich or six slices of cold tomato on a toasted cheese and tomato sandwich. No to mention the twenty or so skinny fries for £3, I would expect a healthy pile of chips for that price. Soup was bland lava and served at 2000 degrees celsius direct from the microwave. Also had the black pudding stack with was pretty much served raw. The crispy bacon was also just showing white rind nothing crispy about it at all. They did manage to reheat the frozen baked Camembert adequately. Beers where sound. The barmaid did comp my entire meal but I still can't justify more...
