The Cider Barn — Restaurant in England

Nice and easy to find as just set back from the main road. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff with a decent enough menu and prices, but it was the bizarre and variable decor and atmosphere that made me want to give this funny little restaurant a five star review. Nowadays, many restaurants, pubs, cafes, bistros etc are going for a sleek, modern, clean look to forfill the customer expected experience but this ‘Cider barn’ has the most grotty, old fashioned, comfortable, grungy atmosphere made up from funky decorations such as tin signs, recycled furniture, funky wallpaper and carpets. It definitely captivates friendly locals and those interested in cars and bikes, but also the younger generation that just fancy an upbeat, cheap place to meet and have good vibes at.

The pizzas were delicious and the cider even better. If your looking for something more conservative, sleek and ‘cute’ or ‘romantic’, I wouldnt recommend this, but if your looking for something truly independent and authentic with a home made atmosphere where you feel you can be yourself, come and give them a visit!

I believe they do live music events too, so perhaps visit them on one of those dates. Overall, easy to find, good car park, toilets, seating inside and out, pool table, good food and drink and good service. What more...

A good selection of ciders, the alcohol content of each marked on a chalk board by its name. The barman will look you over and tell you which one he thinks you'll like best. You will earn his quiet scorn if you order a still rather than a fizzy one. The chili here is absolutely as good as any you will find anywhere in the world; and there is also a very fine beef stew. Both come with delicious moist wheaten bread. If you are lucky, you will fall into conversation with the local film buff, an old man with a walking stick and an extraordinarily wide knowledge of the cinema of his youth (eg Can you name the actor playing the old man who falls in love with Tony Curtis in Some Like It Hot?). Great Food, Great Drinks & Ever better company!!!! me and my partner were in the area to celebrate my 30th birthday, first time to explore this neck of the woods, we were camping and the cider barn was the local pub, everyone was super welcoming, Tom behind the bar is one of the nicest, warmest, genuine and down to earth person, I have ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with. Pizza was exaclty what the doctor ordered and shout out to Scott with 1936! Best Larger ever... Lots of locals were there & took the time to celebrate and create memories for my milestone.
