This is a really historic pub and it’s nice that there’s plenty of signage to explain it’s background and previous uses. Inside it’s really small with super low ceilings and exposed beams and the bar itself is equally small. As a result there isn’t the greatest choice of drinks but there is all the common favourites. There’s a small amount of seating inside but there’s a large decked area at the top of a large garden, which is great for admiring the view down the hill below. If you’ve got kids who want to run around then it’s an ideal garden for that, as well as having a couple of swings at the bottom. The car park is a decent size and all the staff inside are super friendly. Prices were reasonable and with the welcoming atmosphere it was a great place to stop by and I’d certainly return again if I was passing.

Old pub on the outskirts of the village. There are rumours on social media that it was home to the UK's first licensed landlady but I'm not sure if this is true or not. It is though a lovely pub with a great historical significance. Beers not cheap but the views of The Chilterns from the garden are stunning. Definitely worth a stop in good weather.

Our first time visiting today and we were not disappointed! Good hot food, great service from bar and waiting staff and my new favourite person Kieron ;) and my word what a view…warm enough to eat outside and it’s safe to say we will definitely be returning.

Absolutely dicipicle service. The man who runs it was in denial that the food was disgraceful, the service was apaulling, Waited 1hr 45 mins for food, for my partner to bring it outside to the table as was told they don't serve to table outside, for it to turn up stone cold the mussels especially. When we complained to the management about this and the slow service he told my partner that clearly the 'mussels were piping hot as the shells would not of opened otherwise!' Was up for an argument rather than trying to resolve the situation, the chef was really rude to the other tables outside who were also complaining, feel very sorry for the lovely lady who was working very hard behind the bar while the owner was outside reading a newspaper doing nothing other than putting up a defence in his service trying to blame the customers for his apaulling service rather than admitting liability that he was quick enough to take your money rather than provide a good quality service. If your in no rush for food or drink then come here...guareenteed to have a cold dinner and...

A really nice traditional country pub. I love the thatched roof on this pub. It has recovered from fires in the past that ravished it. The owners have lovingly restored it to it's former glory. around in safely. Lots of seating areas outside with a patio and picnic benches/tables in a walled area in front of the car park, then steps down to the large garden A lovely large garden with swings and goal post for the children and plenty of space for them to run around in. The pub itself has friendly staff, one even assisted my friend as they were struggling with the drinks and crisps. There is a lot of choice to choose from in drinks and food where you can choose to eat either insider or out. I really enjoyed my visit and look forward to...
