The Crown Hotel — Restaurant in England

We have a little Monday night club where we go and try local pubs and restaurants in our area.

Tonight was the first time I've been to the Crown but it came highly recommended

The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem as we have a picky eater with our group, the service was great and the pub has a nice atmosphere.

The food though was absolutely delicious, I had the cajan chicken and I have to admit it was better than I expected. The rest of the group had a gamon steak, a parmo, and the sea bass. All of it was cooked really well and was worth the visit.

The sweet menu was slightly disappointing, but we enjoyed the sweets we had.

All in all, a great little pub, good honest food and nice staff, we will be adding the crown to our places...

I have given 5 stars because previous to our last 2 visits the food and service has been excellent, in fact the festive parmo was probably one of, if not the best I have had and I've had a few. I had been saying how good the food was so myself and 2 friends, 1 over from Spain decided to visit on Sunday the 19th Jan. We are about a 30 minute drive away. We arrived just before 7 to be told we stop serving food at 7pm on a su day. That's fair enough, but no hello, can I get you drinks. So rather put out we left and ate in Yarm. So this Sunday the 26th we decided to get out act together and try again. Arrived at 6.10om to be told we don't serve food on Sunday evenings. Aaaargh. A very nice, family friendly place. An excellent GOOD food establishment. No loud SPORT only Televisions, and discreet background music. Always clean and tidy with wood burning fires that give that pleasant feeling. The smell of good home cooked foodmakes you want to stay for a meal. It would be best to phone and make a reservation for meals. Accepting both cash and card. Local artists do display work, which you can purchase. There is a small parking area, a few outisde seating benches and though it would be a struggle , disabled facilities. You must remeber this is not a town facility, and will have to drive to the venue; it would be more than worth...
