The Dog — Restaurant in England

Beautiful old pub, fantastic staff. We booked an early breakfast for a large family group and the staff were very accommodating and pleasant, and the food was good. It's a lovely traditional and cosy pub, with lots of exposed beams and low ceilings (a lovely experience for our extended American family), and comfortable booth seats (at least where we were seated). The staff even helped us take photos of the whole family group and were endlessly helpful. Service was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll definitely try to go back for lunch/dinner before too long....

My 102 year old gran said it was the best scampi and chips she'd ever had. She would have happily sat dunking chips in the homemade tartare sauce all night! She was able to order from the kids menu (she only has a small appetite) which in some places they won't let you do. I had the pasta carbonara from the specials board which was delicious. Both meals were piping hot and well presented. We'll be back again soon and bringing the rest...
