I cannot comment on the rooms as we didn't stay overnight but as a country pub serving great food, you cannot get better for the money.

We have been quite a few times over the years but this was the first time since its refresh. There is plentiful parking, the garden well kept with a safe play area for kids, and the decor inside is welcoming, fresh and more modern than before. The restaurant and bar was absolutely immaculate.

The menu has a heavy emphasis on european/Italian food put there are still plenty of pub favourites and a decent children's menu too. The food was fresh, brilliantly cooked and the quality was clearly high. The portion sizes were above average (especially the fish and chips) and I honestly do not know how someone would fit in three courses. There is plenty to choose from on the drinks side too - especially if you like real ale.

Like the food the service was faultless and every single member of the team was polite, attentive and crucially immaculate.

For 5 adults and a child with some drinks the bill was a little over £140. Honestly I don't not think you will find better for the money and the place easily rivals any Brunning & Price type pub going.

Places such as this are a real gem and honestly we ALL need to continue to support independent places that are this good otherwise we will lose them to soulless corporations or and beautiful buildings like this will fall into ruin.

To all the staff at The Egerton Arms, you did yourselves proud...

After booking we were looked after by a chap called Guto. He took it upon himself to call us on route from London to Chester to see how our journey was and asked us if we needed anything on arrival. We felt this was five star service and up and above the norm. On arrival, he met us and sorted out drink before showing my wife and I to our room and asked if he could get us anything once again. Great young guy. The room was good, although the ensuite was in need of updating. Coffee machine with many coffee pods in the room as well as teas, water etc. Very comfy bed, clean and spacious. TV had Netflix as well as all the other apps you would expect. The breakfast the following morning was A* delicious and plentiful. Again the staff couldn’t do enough. Guto Met us again to make sure all was well. We spent two nights there and both nights and breakfasts were excellent. Definitely recommend this place and for a 3* I think it’s 5* treatment. If the ensuite was updated I feel the star rating would be higher. Thanks again Guto for making our stay feel 5*. We will definitely be staying again. Note to manager. Update ensuite and promote Guto as soon as a higher position becomes available. Sir...

Arrived on a sunday hoping they would have space for us, we genuinely understood if not, they said they couldn't so we asked to sit in the garden and eat said they couldn't do that, so went to the car to leave but changed minds and went in for a drink only, when ordering the guy behind the bar commented to a staff member that we were the chance 5 ?? ( chancers/walked in on the off chance and there's 5 of us ) i know what he means and the other staff members replied with what did you say, I said we don't have room, and they have come back for a drink ??? frustrated because we are right there and can hear them talking about us.. collected drinks and then found ourselves walking through a empty restaurant to get to the garden, there was loads of tables available. we stayed for a hour and the restaurant was empty, we could have eaten and been gone if they were booked tables but they were not.. and to top it off a staff member then brought cutlery outside to a family group that had just arrived ? we had suggested eating outside and were told NO. we have eaten here before and the food was good, this time the customer service was poor, seemed like they didn't want...

We decided to come to the Egerton as we drive past every single day, what a gem! Outside looks a little dilapidated, but inside it's gloriously light, airy and has a very upmarket pub feel. We had a mixture of mains and deserts and they didn't disappoint. We had a chicken roast dinner, a tagliatelle bolognese , a child's steak burger meal and steak frites, rare. Followed by ice cream, a lemon torte, chocolate fondant and an apple and blackcurrant crumble with custard. The crumble wasn't great according to my husband, lots of crumble not enough fruit, more dusty than crumbly and not enough custard but as a general, this place is a new favourite, can't wait to bring more friends and family to enjoy it! The menu is one of best we've seen, the staff are very friendly and we'd highly recommend as a family with 2 teens!

A lovely gem of a public house, my rooms was clean and comfortable with a coffee machine with 4 coffee pods and 2 bottles of drinking water, invthe hall was a mini fridge with fresh milk, the bathroom is clean but wouldn't be my choice of colour, the bed was very comfortable until I rolled over to discover its 2 single mattresses pushed together. Dinner on Friday evening was absolutely delicious, king prawn starter and salmon for main followed by sticky toffee pudding .Saturday evening monkfish tempura needed more than 3 pieces of fish, especially with the price but tasted sensational followed by duck breast with dolphinoise potatoes, which i think are too rich and overwhelmed the duck . Breakfast was fantastic on both mornings, best breakfast i have had and all served with a smile.

Called in on the way home from Liverpool on a Fri evening. They were able to seat us for dinner(5people) and the wheelchair access was good, flat and level. The food when it came, was actually very good and certainly hot. What l think was an issue on the evening was they may have been short staffed, as things generally took a bit longer than expected. But not to detract from the fact that the food was very good. All five of us had different meals and all were exceptionally good. A few photos of our meals included in this .
