What can I say? Anne, Bri and Will you made our stay amazing! If you are a wheelchair user and are travelling with a partner or close friend (and a dog or two) then THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY! Seriously, Anne and her family cannot do enough to help you. There is plenty of turning space inside the room for a wheelchair, the bathroom is a proper wet room with plenty of grab rails and a seat for the shower. I promise that you won't be disappointed. I only stress that if you are an independent wheelchair user then getting up the hill from the room takes some doing but is achievable, but it's easier with someone helping. The Engine Inn is situated conveniently between St Ives and Penzance in a small hamlet. It's quiet, everyone is very friendly (I somehow managed to meet someone I used to work with 20 years ago from South London! I travelled nearly 300 miles and stumble across a former colleague), and there are some beautiful walks right on your doorstep. As there's no light pollution you are able to see so many stars at night, I even managed to see the Milky Way! Be advised though, that there is no WiFi at this location and no phone signal or 4g inside the room. The only place to get any kind of signal enough to make a phone call or video call is from the carpark and even that's a bit patchy. So pack plenty of books or make use of the pub and play board game or have a game of pool. Thank you to the Engine Inn for a wonderful week's stay, and our breakfast boxes for our journey home were exactly what I needed to...
