Myself and my partner along with our 9 year old daughter got a family pod for 1 night for an overnight stay close to Whitby. We really enjoyed our stay, there was a warm homely atmosphere in the inn itself with very friendly and attentive staff. The facilities were spot on, the toilets and showers maintained and cleaned to the highest of standards with an outdoor wash area for cooking pots and camping utensils. The location is ideal as it is situated between Whitby and Scarborough, also been very close to Robin hoods bay and the North Yorkshire moors all of which are beautiful must see places which the Falcon Inn binds together perfectly. The pods were great and it was our first time camping or "glamping" in this way having always used tents or caravans in the past this was a refreshing experience and we would certainly stay at the Falcon Inn again. We'd like to mention that we made a mix up when booking, my partner would have prefered a bed in the pod and was under the belief that the "Family pods" had beds but only The "Double pods" have beds The "Family pods" do not have beds This wasn't an issue we realised after and bought some air beds but thought we should point this out to prevent people doing the same. If we were to find any fault it would be be that for us we felt the pods were a little close together but this didn't affect our stay and we still loved the place. The view of the sky and the stars was amazing from the pods once the sun had gone down, very beautiful and relaxing. We like the idea of maybe some secluded pods in the surrounding forest area making it a true cozy forest glamping experience. All in...

We stayed for one night in the Glamping Pods and the facilities were excellent. The food was reasonably priced and there was a nice homely atmosphere.

Unfortunately, despite the location, facilities, cleanliness, food and pricing all being great, the owner did manage to make sure we left with a sour taste in our mouths.

When coming to pay the bill, my partner went to pay on card, and after numerous attempts with different cards, the machine continued not to work. Following this, the owner insinuated more than once that we had no money in our accounts, and when we offered a solution (online bank transfer) to the machine not working, she abruptly questioned us and said they don't work in that way. Then she said "well I need paying" - when she did finally get paid using the bank transfer option (which apparently they don't use) she still continued to question our accounts, making us feel very uncomfortable in front of other members of staff and created an unpleasant finish to a lovely evening together.

Apart from the owner, my partner and I had a lovely trip to Falcon Forest and we...

Can’t cook a steak and when mentioned chose to argue. I ordered the surf and turf special which was an 8oz rump and 2x scallops for £21 so not cheap. I asked for my steak medium rare and it came out close to well done (brown in the middle and tough) so I mentioned it to the waitress who took it away. A manager came over and said I was mistaken as it was definitely medium rare, and that they all agreed in the back that it was pink throughout. I never expected to have an argument but it was clear they did not want to waste a steak. I said do me a rare one then if that’s your version of medium rare. She said “so you want blood coming out?”. After I replied that I did she said “well it will take a while”, mindful that there was only one other couple eating in the entire place I said “what a minute each side?”. She agreed to a do a replacement which came out about 10 minutes later at what I would call medium well, and certainly no blood coming out. I didn’t bother mentioning it again because they clearly don’t have a clue. Gave it 2 stars because the rest of the...

One night stop on the motorbike. Gorgeous hotel/inn, real gem of a place. Service was attentive and friendly. The whole grounds, eating area and room was immaculate. Modern and fresh throughout, just missed the sunshine, will therefore try out the beer garden next time. The food menu was good (decent choice without all the faffy stuff no-one wants!) and food itself was spot on. Beef lasagne for tea and cooked breakfast in the morning which was an excellent portion size. There was a lager at the bar which is all I need. Parking is fairly secluded and off-road, plenty of space too. The parking area has gravel, extra care is needed which is my only gripe!

Our first visit yesterday for lunch and thoroughly enjoyable. Wholesome, tasty food which was beautifully presented and clearly sourced locally. Service could have been better, drinks spilt over a napkin with no attempt to replace, asked if we would like a dessert and then completely disappeared. Thankfully another server was much more responsive. Other than that spot on and would return.

Absolutely delicious vegan butternut squash and lentils Wellington. It was one of the best meals I recently had, flavours were really nicely balanced, all complemented each other perfectly. If you like traditional British dessert, sticky toffee pudding is to die for. Superb stuff too!
