The room we stayed in was in the courtyard, separate from the main building. The room was lovely and clean with a comfy bed , and the bathroom was massive . Nice touch with biscuits included with the tea and coffee facilities. We ate here in the evening and the food was good and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Out the back is a large outdoor seating area which was really nice and the surrounding village was pretty with a little beck running through and so peaceful.

We were back at Bishop Wilton for Christmas and had booked lunch on Boxing Day. This pub is always lovely and we have a great time, but this time - from our initial conversation with Louise when arrived, to when we left- it was brilliant. A great atmosphere, fab food and friendly staff. We will be back! The pea and mint fritters were so good, that I did take a picture. Many Thanks

Well run village pub offering a great selection of food and drink. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, lovely owners. I would highly recommend this establishment in the beautiful village of Bishop Wilton. You can even pay using your phone, isn't technology brilliant

Very dark pub not very welcoming me and my wife went in and because the people behind the bar had not seen us before they looked at us strangely, they did not know we have been going to Bishop Wilton for the last four years. They have been running the pub for about two years, they don't remember but me and my wife went to the pub when they first took over and we had gone for a couple of drinks that evening & wanted to know if the pub still served food as it had in the past as we had booked the same table for the whole week when we were there and the previous landlord ran the pub and the food was excellent the atmosphere was brilliant and the place was full of life and laughter. I can honestly say since the other people have been running the pub it is dark grim and has zero atmosphere my wife wanted a Bailey's the lady behind the bar said they did not have any left we found out the reason she couldn't find it was because it was a cheap version of Bailey's and when she did find it she said that there wasn't enough for a drink so we ended up with two disoronos, which were served in two large glasses with ice ok not the right glasses we might have been able to overlook that but the glasses were dirty we had to find a clean place to put our lips which we just about managed. If you want somewhere decent to drink go to Pocklington, because if you go there you will regret it...

A true East Yorkshire hidden GEM. I was doing a walk and we stopped in the village, we had pre ordered our food, but this did not take anything away from the quality of the service. We were welcomed on our entry by very attentive staff, who asked how the walk had been and answered every question asked by the group. The range of beers was good and reasonably priced. I had the Veltins and it was really nice. The food came out on good time after our arrival, I had a pie, chicken ham and leek and it was served with chips and the most delicious gravy, that given the chance I would have drank it. The pastry around the pie was beautiful and the entire meal was really really nice, all the food that came out was good. The pudding menu has a broad selection on that all sounded nice.

I will go back and take the family there as it...

Went for a meal last night while staying locally on our holiday and the food was excellent. Homemade pies made and cooked perfectly. The landlord keeps a good cellar and the Theakston went down a treat. Staff where very friendly and happy in their work. A lovely evening!

Returned this weekend and yet again a lovely lunch, fabulous home cooked meal and excellent service. We love coming here! See you in October when we are staying local again. Thankyou !

End October 2024 Returned to the Wolds and Bishop Wilton and another great meal at the Fleece Inn. Sorry to see it is up for Let I hope someone equally good takes up on this lovely country village pub! Well done to...
