Have seen this pub for the last 6 years or so on my way to derwent manor and always wanted to try it. Walked there today from derwent manor and its a Lovely little pub with great views over the hills from the conservatory, roaring fire and very reasonable prices, but really didn't feel welcome at all.
It's a shame as there's beer mats promoting local pubs and saying how many local pubs close a week, not surprising if the welcomes are as cold as this.

He told us some of the history of the pub going back to as far as 1820. The drinks were reasonably priced and The Bombardier was exceptional.
