Stayed here for 3 nights Friday thru Sunday for the F1 weekend. Our second stay, we came for the Moto GP last August, brought our daughter back this time. Its so well placed for an easy 20-25 minute walk to the track. Lived up to and exceeded our expectations this time. Room was lovely, beds comfy, very clean. We ate 3 nights and took advantage of 2 breakfasts. Food was delicious, presentation beautiful, and tasted outstanding. The breakfast was a fantastic start to the day. Can't single staff out as the warm welcome and friendly smiles that greeted us shone thru all the team. From breakfast to dinner and drinks, staff couldn't have been more helpful, always taking the time to ask how our day had been. The pub is very clean throughout and runs like a well oiled machine. The relaxed and friendly nature of the staff really made our stay so much more enjoyable. We look forward to coming back one day, away from racing events, to enjoy the live music and great hospitality again in the future. Would absolutely recommend. Read moreMy son lives in Chelmsford, Silverstone is the halfway point for us to meet. We wanted a dog friendly pub that did Sunday Lunch. The reviews for The Fox & Hounds we’re already good, so we booked. The pub is smack bang in the middle of the village, and has excellent parking. The interior is traditional country pub, with a massive nod to the circuit with past & present legends hung on the walls. (Not literally!) in the the distance you can hear the sounds of powerful engines, this just adds to the atmosphere. There was a warm welcome and a extensive choice of cast beers. We all chose the roast beef, it was mouth watering! We asked for a couple sausages for our little Westie Ollie. To our delight and his, he was given a few slices of beef. The charge was minimal. It was a lovely experience for all our family. Its a long way to go for Sunday lunch, but we wouldn’t hesitate to go again....
Read moreVisiting Silverstone racetrack for the weekend and was attracted to the Fox & Hounds by their website mentioning Silverstone beer! It had to be checked out and I'm really happy I did. The beer is good, the team led by Rob is excellent and the food is great. I had the belly pork and black pudding starter, meltingly soft meat, crispy skin and tasty black pudding. Followed by a pub classic, fish and chips. A large, very fresh fish, nice crisp batter with great, mid-sized chips. Served with a very good tartar sauce, they may have made it and it was one of the best I've tasted. Silverstone beer, two on draft, was so good I bought a bottle each of the five brews so I could try them all later. Well worth a visit whether you're local or a visitor. Oh, hang on, the locals seem to already know and...
