One of the areas little gems - I have been here for lunch just me and my husband, mid week dinner as a family, weekend evenings with girlfriends, Sunday lunch with family including grandparents. It really does tick all the boxes - for lovely food at a good price this place is perfect!
The service is always amazing the only criticism I have is that sometimes it’s too fast between courses but that is in no way a criticism - I love food!! Just keep it coming 😂
Lovely and fresh, beautiful presentation and just all round proper place! Love it.
The Sunday lunch is exceptional!!! Hits the spot every time and the croquette potatoes are divine!!
For anyone going - which you should it’s great, I would just note 2 things to first time visitors, 1) book ahead 2) don’t arrive too early as there isn’t a bar area as such to have a drink before you eat, on a warm day there is outside covered seating but inside is limited - so just so you know really !
Amazing team work and please don’t ever close be cause we love...
Read moreA lovely little pub that possibly suffers for its limited kitchen size. We arrived, greeted and seated quite promptly. We were shown the specials board and ordered drinks which arrived within minutes. We then felt as though we had been forgotten, when we said we were ready to order we were told the kitchen was waiting for a larger table to order first. 15 mins later we were offered bread rolls. 10 mins later we asked for the bill as we hadn't received the rolls or been updated on the order time. Once we said we were leavin the waiter took our order and the food came about 20 mins after that, so over an hr with 2 toddlers before any food, which was so disappointing in such a lovely pub with friendly staff. The meal was nice, although my wife didn't enjoy the trio of duck unfortunately. Fatty, tough and maybe a tad ambitious. Im sure this was just a glitch and normal service without large tables wouldn't result in others leaving...
Read moreWe were in the area today and the old Google engine recommended this spot for a bite to eat. We arrived at 2.10pm, asked for a table for the three of us, although they stop Sunday lunch at 2pm they still accommodated us, and we are pleased that they did. We had a roast dinner each, a lamb, a beef and a pork they were all excellent but the lamb took first place. The vegetables were delicious, the lightly curried and battered parsnips were a very tasty twist. I am afraid that we weren't very adventurous when it came to pudding and all opted for apple and bramble pie, this was served with cream or custard and homemade ice-cream. You cannot fault the quality and quantity of the dishes here. The staff are friendly and they know what they are doing, and we found the landlord to be a most hospitable chap. Highly recommended...
