Absolutely terrible experience here! Sat at a table with filthy glasses on the table, should have known then not to order but we didn’t say anything as we weren’t drinking from them. Went ahead with the order, they got the order wrong but again didn’t make a fuss, they just removed the bacon from the burger (assume they just pulled it out as the plate came back just minus the bacon). Then noticed a hair stuck to the stick going through the burger- highlighted this to the waitress but reluctantly agreed to keep as it was just on the stick and didn’t want worse to come back out after highlighting it to the kitchen. The chips we did try were nice, but not consistently hot. Many were cold and some were warm, none of them hot, so hopefully these didn’t come from other plates! Took a bite of the burger, only to find ANOTHER hair! Both hairs appeared to be animal hair, possibly cat or dog hair. We were offered a replacement but at this point we were put off of our food for good for obvious reasons and asked to just leave quietly without making a fuss. We waited to ensure that the bill was not charged however the manager still wanted to charge for the drinks which we found disgusting- the manager didn’t even come out to speak to us, just told the waitress to charge us ! We were charged nearly £9 for a beer and a Pepsi max - even though the evening had been ruined and we left without eating (unless you count the hair!). Very poor management, would naturally have assumed that by way of an apology that the least would be not to charge for the drinks, but no these were still charged. So, if you enjoy hair in your food and drinking from a glass with someone else lipstick on it, you’ll love it here. If you don’t, my advice would be try somewhere else. These things happen sometimes and we would have left quietly and not said another word- we did try and continue the meal after the first hair but the second was just a joke. To be asked to pay for the drinks having barely touched the food after finding 2 hairs (literally ate a few chips and took a bite of one burger) is...
Read moreGrandad, Dad and two young Grandsons stayed one night , in order to visit Bovington Tank Museum. Location was perfect for us , being near to Lulwoth Cove and Durdle Door was a bonus. We stayed in two ground floor double rooms 8 & 9. The rooms were very nice, recently refurbished, lovely comfortable beds. Well presented. Bathroom possibly needed a bit of tlc, however clean and well stocked with towels and shampoos etc. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room (well stocked) Large flat screen wall mounted TV.||I did have an issue with using the over the bath shower , the entry and exit stepping over a high bath caused me a major issue due to no wall handles to assist, for me this was very uncomfortable and I felt unsafe. There was no emergancy help call button ||My young Grandsons aged 11 and 13 staying in the next room also reported this as well. The temperature of the shower not consistent going from acceptable to unacceptable hot. ||The restaurant and bar were great, extensive menu and drinks selection. The meals were really good , we had Roast pork , fish and chips and scampi and chips. They were tremendous, I was unable to do justice to my roast. Prices were very good too, the bar and restaurant staff were very attentive and customer focused. Continental breakfast included . Parking okay and free WiFi included. Darts and pool table The rear gardens and very large front courtyard looked very good.| |Overall the welcome and support by the all the staff was excellent.||I reported my shower experience and was listened to and staff welcomed my feedback. They suggested if we returned we requested upstairs rooms which have walk in showers available. However for elderly guests with mobility issues it would make sense to have these on the ground floor. ||Overall a very good Inn, with nice rooms , good restaurant , reasonable prices and very attentative staff. Nice location , oh yes next to the Moreton railway station , with great connections to Weymouth. 15 minutes drive to Lulworth and...
Read moreChoose to stay at as had a good rating and close to Durdle Door. Also my wife doesn't eat meat and so had some good veggie stuff.||On the main road so easy to find and had a good sized car park. Check in was at a desk just next to the bar. Had to wait a bit as the girl was dealing with something but the bar tender kept coming round to let us know she would be with us. When she came round she was on the phone dealing with a large booking but apologised when done. Took her a few seconds to sort us out.||So our room was just in the main courtyard. It was compact but was really neat and tidy. Wife loved the shower, nice and strong. The only downside was that there were seats right outside our door. We'd had a day of hiking so hit the bed early, about 2200 and you could hear people talking outside, still they were gone by 11. ||So we ate in the restaurant. My wife is not fussed ever about eating out, would always prefer to cook, but had no choice in this instance. I had chosen as it some good veggie choices. What she wanted was the normal burger (she liked all the stuff in the normal burger compared to the veggie option) but with the houllomi, which they did for her, which was good. We had the sharing plater of olives and breads which was good. I had my old favourite of fish and chips, which was really nice, good crispy batter and chips. Tartar sauce was good, liked the peas, wife not so much. With a couple of drinks, the bill came to £50 which I thought was good value and even more so as my wife really liked it (loved the burger sauce).||Slept well, had really good A/C. Breakfast was continental, which we both liked. I like a cooked breakfast but not before a walk so suited us both, and had a good choice of bits. ||All in all, we liked the place. Really good staff, loved the food, nice room and great location. Would easily recommend and...
