Such a shame I had a bad experience here with my meal yesterday lunch time
On first impressions the Full Moon is a lovely pub with good beer garden and a good menu We sat outside in the shade to enjoy the lovely weather. Being that it was a warm day I chose the Ploughman's lunch which I thought had a good choice of food and value for money The service was OK and the rest of my party had been served their food while my Ploughman's lunch seemed to have got lost on the way. After about 15 minutes of waiting and everyone else had almost finished their meals I thought I best go and check out what had happened to my Ploughman's. Spoke to the really nice young waitress that had taken our orders and served the others their meals where my meal was. She apologised and said she would go and find out . She returned and said it's on its way. I returned to the table and within a minute the waitress came out with my plougmans apologising again. My ploughman's lunch it seemed had been placed under a hot lamp and had been forgotten about Everything was warm even the lovely salad . The cheese was near to sliding off the plate the bread had turned to toast. . Aways thought a ploughman's was served cold. Explained to the lovely waitress I did not want to eat the meal. Again she was very apologetic. I asked for a full refund of which I did receive. It would have been nice if the chef or management came and spoke to me. Such at shame as the Full Moon I think is a lovely pub It was my first time eating here . My son recommended it as he ate there last week and enjoyed his meal Sadly his meal also yesterday was not up to standard . Under cooked pork Fillet with very few veg a couple of potatoes and a few tomatoes. Overpriced £15 for a small piece of pork. Don't think we will be returning to...
Read moreThe Full Moon, what a surprise visit. Firstly big shout out to Amy and George behind the bar. Tuesday is Steak night, it's a busy one. Despite my best efforts to throw off the chef after my starter and asking for an adtional 5 minutes on a medium steak. It came out perfect. The pepper corn sauce was full of pepper corns. I want to believe it's fresh, it tasted fresh and creamy. Touch of thyme and fresh garlic on the mushroom, rocket and parmesan cheese had feel of Italian restaurant. This place is heaving, plenty of atmosphere and it's a Tuesday. I'm so impressed.
Again a massive shout out to not only the chef that was banging out great food while I was sat at the bar, but to Amy and George that were spinning around doing drinks and service like a Covent Garden bar on Saturday.
Book a table, take a...
Read moreI pass through the village occasionally with business and decided to stop for a pint and some food on my way home. Although I can accept that it was mid week and getting late in the evening, what I did not think appropriate was the fact that after two pints of fairly badly poured traditional ale and a so so pub meal the foreign barmaid started to put the chairs upon the tables and clear up as if closing at 9.50pm . I can accept that it was not a very busy night with just a table or two of people, but to feel rushed as if she had something better to do was unacceptable, Paying the bill was also rushed and impersonal. For such a beautiful building to house such a...
