What a lovely find ! The Landlord was very accommodating even though he had been left short staffed due to isolation. They managed to fit 6 of us in and the food was delicious. I would definitely go out of my way to return but book next time ! Thanks very much again x

We went here with four work friends for our Christmas celebration on a Friday evening. The pub was very empty and at 6 00 we were the only ones in the dining room. We had pre-ordered our meals and they managed to get one of the starters wrong. One starter, mushroom soup was ok but two prawn cocktails and a game pate were pretty rubbish. The main courses were a disaster, the Christmas vegetables consisted of Carrots pretty raw, cauliflower under cooked and sprouts that had been clearly been cooked for hours. The veg was served in a dessert bowl (Five people!) so we had to ask for more. The Turkey was tasteless and looked like the cheap reformed type meat one gets from supermarkets for lunchtime eating. The desserts were again pretty poor and I must confess that I have had better in a Road Chef. My wife and I had mochaccino coffee, which was considered additional to the ordinary coffee priced in with the set meal. This cost us £3.50 for each extra!!! Mince pies were included also but we had to ask for these. We shall never revisit this pub again. 1 out of 10. Very...

Made a booking here for 2 nights while at a friends wedding nearby- 3 weeks later I received a generic email from them saying they can no longer ā€œaccommodateā€ me for both nights due to an event, and that I need to contact them as they will not charge me if I wish to cancel. (How very kind of them!) I was told in their email to reply to them - I did this only to receive a bounce back email saying you cannot respond to the address they sent it from. I have tried calling over 15 times now since then, and every single time the phone line is either busy or rings off the hook. As they left it three weeks to contact me after my booking had been confirmed, there were only 2 places in the area with any availability- both charging significantly more for what is now classed as a last minute booking! Appalling lack of customer care and I can’t even get hold of them to discuss it. They’ve managed to ruin what should be a lovely couple of days and left me out of pocket due to their complete...

Booked for myself, husband and 25 year old granddaughter for Sunday Carvery. Warm greeting by member of staff shown to our table, sorted out our drinks. The restaurant was modern, clean and still had atmosphere, very good first impressions. The carvery was excellent 3 meats Pork, Turkey and premium rib of Beef, generous portions, accompanied by real roast potatoes perfectly cooked, large selection of vegetables and sauces. Good selection of desserts if you could fit one in. We found all the staff and the owner very friendly including George the African Grey on the bar. Toilet facilities very clean. This is somewhere we will...
