Came here yesterday for my Birthday lunch, only to leave quite disappointed by the experience. Firstly, my starter was forgotten. The waitress never returned to check if everything was OK, so I had to go and find someone to locate my food. A waitress went and found my starter and said it has been left under a heat lamp, however, it was by now, at best, lukewarm. It was billed as ‘Roasted Garlic Bulb, Homemade Sourdough’. What I eventually received by the time my dining companions had finished their starters was a room temperature previously roasted bulb of garlic with wholemeal bread? On to the main, I ordered Bouillabaisse (fish soup/stew) which was left with no spoon to eat it with. Again I had to go and find staff to get the appropriate cutlery, as yet again no server returned to check on us, which to be honest is just plain irritating that I had to get up and find assistance for the second time. The service was not just poor for us but we noticed the table next to us received similar indifferent experience. Food was delivered with one word barked, ‘Hake’, then thrown at whoever. The customers just looked bewildered, they then asked if they could have some salt & pepper, to which, they were met with an eye roll and ‘I’ll get someone to bring you some’ - why couldn’t the waitress get it herself? Why isn’t salt & pepper on the table anyhow? Huge credit must be given to the kitchen staff / chefs - the food we ate was all very delicious (aside from my starter). I’m still thinking about just how good it was it today, sadly though the front of house severely lets it down. Would I return? Yes, probably, in the hope that the service has...

I have been to the Garlic farm on three occasions. First time, I had the ploughman's. It was great! The second time, I ordered the ploughman's again, but this time, there was not much cheese and the bread was a bit dry. I was a little disappointed. Due to lock down, I hadn't been back until last week ( I think it was Tuesday 11th May ) and this time, I decided to try the Highland Beef sausage roll with rocket horseradish and mustard. When it turned up, I was surprised to receive half a dry, lukewarm sausage roll with a lick of some sort of pale creamy sauce/dressing, no rocket, not even a sprig, and no horseradish. I commented to my wife that had I been blindfold, I would not have had a clue what I was eating. It tasted of nothing at all so, I left half on my plate. It was £8:00, not cheap in my opinion for a sausage roll, Highland Beef or otherwise. To be fair, when I informed the waitress of my disappointment, she immediately and without hesitation offered to knock it off the bill and alert the chef, which was decent. Summing up : I moved to the Island a little over a year ago. I am not a tourist, although that should make no difference, and having been let down on two out of three occasions, I don't feel I can confidently take friends and guests to this restaurant for fear of further let down in the future. Pity really. The staff, the setting and the grounds are really lovely. Lets hope it picks up...

If you're a fan of garlic, a visit to The Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight is an absolute must. This unique farm offers a wide variety of products, all featuring garlic in one form or another. From garlic beer to garlic chocolate, garlic mayo to smoked garlic, there's something for every taste bud to enjoy.

But The Garlic Farm is more than just a store. It's a fully functioning farm, with tractors buzzing around and lots of people walking through the fields of garlic. It's a sight to behold, and the smell of fresh garlic in the air is simply amazing.

After exploring the farm, be sure to stop by the lovely coffee shop for a bite to eat. They offer a range of delicious dishes featuring garlic as a key ingredient, as well as some classic dishes for those who may not be as enthusiastic about garlic as others.

One of the highlights for me was the farm heritage section, which provides lots of informative history about garlic and its cultivation. You'll learn about the different varieties of garlic, their origins, and the unique flavor profiles that make each one special.

Overall, a visit to The Garlic Farm is a truly unique and unforgettable experience. Whether you're a die-hard garlic lover or simply interested in learning more about this fascinating plant, you're sure to have a wonderful time exploring the farm and sampling its many...

Wow what a place! A group of 15 of us booked out all of the Yurts so that we would have the communal area to ourselves which was a huge selling point. The Yurts themselves are incredible and you can tell no expense was spared when kitting out the place. We loved the little touches from hot water bottles on beds to free samples from the farm shop.. it was all these bits that made it stand out In the communal area there was a hugeee BBQ perfect for us all and a table which fit 15 perfectly, enough logs to keep us going for the weekend and fridges galore for the volume of prosecco we brought. The team were amazing, loved the ease of self check in and we even had silent disco equipment delivered before we arrived which they had set out for our arrival. We also went to breakfast on the last day at their restaurant and it was amazing, made even better by the discount we received to due staying on site. I honestly couldn't recommend this place more, driving in the whole field and set up blows your mind... social media pics and their website does not do it justice! We had the best hen weekend and I truly believe the biggest highlight was the accomodation, there's no doubt in my mind we'll be back!

Who doesn’t love garlic?! My friends and I were extremely excited to try one of the staples of the Isle of Wights food scene. In a nutshell - the food was very tasty, though some things weren’t to my liking. I would certainly recommend it though, it’s a nice experience. We had: The escargot (snails) which if you can’t forget about the fact that you’re eating a snail, won’t be pleasant. The whole roasted garlic bulb - I honestly thought this would be tastier, it wasn’t all that I imagined it would be. The mushroom appetizer- this was so good! Definitely worth ordering. We also ordered the scampi and the beef toasty, both of which were super delicious. The waitress also offered us each an individual black garlic piece, which tasted just like a gummy. The scenery is beautiful, there are loads of animals and walkways that you can enjoy, and they even have an amazing gift shop with loads of garlic-infused items (salt, jams, different types of garlic…). It’s a little on the pricey side - but certainly worth a visit if you’re a garlic connoisseur. **Just know that you’ll be burping garlic for the next couple days though, so schedule your plans accordingly!**
