This is one of the filthiest places I have ever had the misfortune to stay. The pictures say it all ! Zoom in and have a good look. Check the shelves behind the bar that the glasses are sat on ! It states that the room comes with breakfast. You get a previously opened bottle of milk, a loaf of white bread, a used filthy tub of margarine spread, and some little boxes of serial, that's your lot. Check the pictures of the toaster and kettle. I used nothing and went to tesco for breakfast. Check the clump of hair on the used bodywash bottle your given. Live woodlice running merrily around the shower and toilet area.(the doors of which don't stay closed). We are still living in the era of covid and I hazard a guess that nothing on these premises have been cleaned in the last year. Oh, and on arrival you will be greeted with a grunt, no smile or welcome. I wouldn't take the chance of eating there, if this is what the public gets to see, what's behind the closed doors I.e. the kitchen ? So I took my custom to a pub one mile up the road. The pub having only three customers and two of those were bikers passing through tells its own story. I strongly suggest you give this place the widest berth possible. Whole place needs fumigation and a...
Read moreOne star is doing this place justice! Upon arrival we were welcomed with casual racism, telling me who I was, I couldn’t be the other guest because the other name didn’t match my race. We were shown to the room and told that if we wanted food or a drink to go to a pub down the road even though the establishment was a pub itself. The room was dark, dingy and smelt of cigarettes. It had clearly not been serviced since the previous guests had left. The bin was still full of rubbish, open conditioner and face wash left on the sink. There was toothpaste spit all over the taps and sink. A large area of mould in the shower and grime around the shower hose. There were cobwebs and dust around and the bathroom floor had not been hoovered or cleaned. I suspect the bedding had not been changed as there were visible hairs and insect crawling around under the duvet. The dining table had not be cleaned as sugar was scattered across it. An extremely stained chair in the corner of the room. There was a large hole in the wall where the curtain pole had been ripped out exposing the bare brick behind the plaster. Safe to say we did not stay in this establishment and drove the 4 hours home the same day we had...
Read moreStayed at the George inn last weekend for a night as we were diving nearby. The host was really ncie and friendly and offered us a choice of rooms on arrival. He also suggested a local place to eat and made some drinks recommendations of the local cider (which was delicious). We thought we'd left a set of keys and when I called he went and looked for them (they turned out to be in a bag we had with us) but the host was super helpful and really nice. The room itself was lovely. It had everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was comfy, good shower, nice clean room and the road was pretty quiet. We had a great night's sleep there and then we're able to help ourselves to the breakfast provided which was fab - no rushing along to a set breakfast time. Would recommend this place and hope to stay again if we're in...
