As far as Indian meals go this was okay, it was filling and hot on arrival, tasted fresh if a little flavourless, nothing particularly memorable but it was the friendliness of service personnel that was a little lacklustre. I’m not sure if it’s a cultural thing and differing professional mannerisms, but the reception when serving felt a little cold. Came to about £70 for two for a drink each, two small vey crispy papadoms with dips, starters, mains, rice and a naan.

Visited with a party of seven and obviously pre booked. Arrived and gave our reservation details, or tried to. Halfway through the waiter interrupted and said "sit there". Someone else came in with no booking and was escorted to a table straightaway. When the waiter came back to take us to the table there were ample tables that were free that we could have been taken too on arrival. We waited a long while before our drinks order was taken and I thought we were never going to get the popadoms we had ordered. When our order was finally taken, this same waiter kept cutting short our requests. One of our party has a bad leg at present and six times her foot was kicked by the waiters. Chicken tikka was spicy for one of our party, odd. Food lovely apart from that though. Don't know if there has been a change of ownership but they need to be less abrupt as the previous staff always were so polite. Was going to book a 60th party with them but not now. Shame this previously excellent indian has dropped the...

The Goa Balti is surprisingly large and the 7 of us were accommodated very nicely around a nice round table with nice comfortable seats.

We had the special mixed platter to kick the meal off and this was an excellent start to the meal - especially the prawns and what seemed liked a lamb shish bon bon.

We had various main courses to share but my favourites were the green lamb curry, the sizzling spiced lamb and the Goan prawn curry although all 7 of the dishes were different with different spices and degrees of heat.

The rice was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed my plain nan with its light but toasted texture.

The service was great and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable diner.

If using a Sat Nav beware of it tell you to turn into The Street as the restaurant is on...

First, the positives, good food and very quick. Now, why we won’t be going back for a sit down meal. The place was spacious and empty when we sat down, as more people came in they placed them all around us within arms distance, all of us in a tight corner. This does nothing for the dining experience, there was masses of room for all to enjoy the meal and was done, I presume, for the benefit of the waiting staff! The staff just unnecessarily linger around you, you feel you are being watched throughout the meal, very disconcerting. The person serving us, although attentive, seemed sullen and unfriendly, as though he didn’t want...
